Don’t even start that rumour 😉
Probably Tornados from Marham, been operating over Wittering ready for deployment.
Tonight I wont be drinking and therefor i’ll get a proper look and listen, maybe even a wander off to Wittering.
I saw the two lovely ladies about 08:30 on the back of flatbed lorries heading south today near Woolfox lodge, the wings followed a few yards later.
Also, about 23:30 last night, the GF and I where just walking home and heard aircraft over head (Stamford), where they Harriers??? really sounded like it, night flights and circuits just like the good old days, the GF also thinks the same, she grew up in Wittering village
Any ideas?
Many thanks.
If only every Council did this.
Fantastic book, thanks again.

An Antonov 12 cargo plane was destroyed when it crashed in the Mvoumvou residential area of Pointe-Noire, Congo. The airplane was approaching runway 17 when it came down. It struck several houses and burst into flames.
AFP quoted a local official who reported that there were four crew members and five passengers on the plane. A spokesman of the Russian embassy in Brazzaville reported that three crew members were Russians. The copilot was a citizen of Kazakhstan.
Trans Air Congo supposedly owns one An-12 plane, registered TN-AGK.
After a quick trip yesterday, there is now plant on site and some activity however I don’t know how much, i’ll keep an ear to the ground.
Also Grafton Underwood has a few.
This is the one that was discovered last year:

And one of the slightly different ones on the airfield side with a shelter attached:

Not the Severn Bridge but still gorgeous?
Another site worth looking at is:
If you still have it my son would give it a good home, he loves anything aircraft or whirlycopterish however we’ve got nothing to swap.
It would go in his bedroom along with bits of B-17s, 1940’s bottles from various airfields and a fuel trap from a RR Merlin / Griffin engine.
Top Gear also use Bentwaters Parks for some filming:
As Adrains Says Gingie we allow for children to, as long as there with an adult under their supervision. When kids come more othen than not they love it.
Leicestershires very own airforce.
Thanks Bucc900
Trust me he will love it, however a couple of questions he’ll ask, ” Dad, shall I wear my camo gear or my RAF uniform” and also “When can I fire her up” I think I know the answer to both!
We’ve been to Brunty to photograph the old RAF buildings had had a good walk round the peri track, also he got to go in a Noble round the track, “thank you mystery chap”
Whats the next step, just turn up and get down and dirty?
I’ve posted a request for help on a couple of forums, and hope it helps.
My main problem is if I came along my lad would want to aswell, he’s made about ex RAF sites and planes, however insurance maybe a problem as he’s only 12.
Sorry to dig this up again, however does anyone have a contact number for Mr Coggan or Mr Arnold as i’m visiting the area tomorrow.
I have spoken to one of them previously but have lost the number I contacted.
Thanks in advance.
