I really don’t know what you’re all raving about..it looks just like any other aircraft in that size range..it’s looks are nothing special and it just looks like a tarted up 767

On a similar theme ( If not deemed thread creap 😮 ) does anyone have any video of the red flag buccaneers ? Or photos of the Zap on the phantom that went tech to the place in nevada with no name ?

Remember these TU-95s are in international waters.

I think that should read international airspace, I don’t think we downed them yet !
8 Bears what a sound track that would have been. How many Blackjacks are still serviceable? I believe they were met by 4 Tornado F3s from Leeming. If we get short handed are the Saudis still in Scotland?

such a waste of our aviation prowess allowing the cancellation to occur at all!still lets see if that wealthy russian who wanted to buy a B52 the other day could be persuaded to downsize his needs and consider our Cosfords little number , with his spending power she could be flying in six weeks!

Bit Ironic that would be as they told Wilson to cancel it in the first place! :diablo: Or was it the Yanks ??:dev2: Never been too sure on that point.

BTW: I hope it’s not inappropriate to ask here…but what did cause the crash of Tudor G-AGSU?

It was a miss rigging of the controls leading to reversed inputs, which caused loss of control at low altitude. Those who know say if it had been discovered at 5,000 feet and not 50′ it would have been recovered.

Who would ever want to bury a Halifax or Lancaster….with a shovel? Or a bulldozer must have been handy.

There are well documented records of aircraft pushed over cliffs etc at the end of WW2, so why not bury them if you dont have a nearby cliff on base.

Just revisited this thread in a moment of rare idle curiosity.
Does anyone have an audio file of a TSR-2. Or come to think about it a Javelin as well??
