What ever happened to the proposed DH-86 Express replica? I think I recall Viv Bellamy was involved at one time.
    Thanks in anticipation

Perhaps that wasn’t the one that went to America then.
Thanks for your time and trouble.

Am I right in thinking the exotic materials used in the construction of “Stealthy” aircraft, Ram etc etc are very highly toxic when burnt?
Could be serious for the fire and rescue guys out there.
    Hope everyone is OK

Thanx but would we know which others they have flown in?

I think you will find they flew out in the same aircraft, it then stayed at Belgrade to bring them back. The stop at munich was a tech stop for fuel only.
    Hope it helps.

I don’t think the FAA will allow G- reg aircraft based and crewed in New York. Remember all the fuss about N registering the Concords ( spelling intentional) for the US domestic sector for Branniff? Open skies or not I dont think American law will allow foreign owned companies to operate on their turf. Note the trouble Virgin-USA has had with the federales.

Airframes are like car bodies..once they’ve been wrecked and rebuilt they are just never the same..I’d never knowingly buy are car that had been rebuilt and I’d hate to think i was at forty thousand feet in a plane that had been wrecked and rebuilt

I wouldn’t be prepared to fly those wings after they are patched up!

JAL can vouch for the quality of Boeing rebuilds.

If she is rebuilt I would expect BA to retire the registration G-YMMM and reregister the pheonix once risen.

IF the initial reports of double engine loss of power and loss of computer based instrumentation are proved correct, this could have huge repercussions for all ETOPS certified B777 operators worldwide.
    Just my 2d.
Serious congratulations to all crew for safely landing and evacuating this aircraft. Bet the SLF on board that listened to the briefing are glad they did so now.

Some carriers don’t subscribe to BAs view of the regions
Continental ( as just one example)
    BRS-EWR
    BFS-EWR
    BHX-EWR
    EDI-EWR
    GLA-EWR
    EDI-MCO
    GLA-LAX
For those who need it EWR= New York Newark, MCO=Orlando LAX= Los Angeles.
I don’t think they all run at a loss.

Can’t see it really, BA have never done small well.
Long drag BRU-JFK and CDG-JFK on a non ER 757-236, must be in a low
density high revenue configuration ala MaxJet, SilverJet, EOS style.
Have BA ever had ETOPS approval for 757 ops. Non of BA s 13 remaining
757-200s are ER versions. As it appears SilverJet are struggling even
with their route monopoly and dedicated luxury terminal at Luton. I
dread to think how much it will cost to bring two airframes up to
    spec.
May be with cascaded 767ERs when the 787s come on line. Who is going
to pay premium rate fares for a 13 year old 757 ??

IIRC that the problem was the single shot fire extinguishers on all Allison turboprop engines. It stopped Air UK from having CV580 s years ago and caused no end of problems for Trans Meridians Herk plans. They eventually sorted something out when the Air Bridge Electras eventually got a UK C of A followed by Channel Express. ( Not sure what though)
    Hope it helps

Thanks for that comprehensive reply. I assume the Afghanistan bound ones have a military serial rather than British class B G-8-xxx.

Does any one have serials for Hertis or other British built UAVs ?? Please.

Well, that is pretty certainly the production version, the 750 kgs distinguishes it from the prototypes, I’m looking forward to some images being released of the production standard. 🙂

Thanks for that. Do you know how many prototypes have been built? What did they weigh?
