    Insignia

… and my attempt to make it more narrow ! 😀

Interesting to notice that the PLAAF insignia is painted on the fuslage rather than on the vertical fin.

Tu-160s! I read in some mag, and quoted by a Russian official that they are trying to arouse the interest of the Chinese in the TU-22M-3 instead.

    Some Indonesian MiG-21s…

    Interesting pic!

Esp since the Indonesian MiGs were no longer in operational service, they even bothered to paint the MiG (as recent as 1997) in the aggressor colours of its A-4s! 😮

It could be argued whether the flying erection is more ugly or obscene…

Flying Erection? HA! HA! HA! That’s a good one!! :diablo:

Is this Egyptian or Yemeni AF?

Egyptian AF, mate. It is painted in the Egyptian colours known as the ‘Nile Colours’. 😀

I apologize to the members of this forum for letting me grab in this pointless discussions.
GarryB I either agree with you about the Soviets asking for help for Chernobyl, I don’t see how this fits to the subject of this thread–“Myths of Aviation.

    Let’s restart:

    Myths:

    -dogfights wins air war–wrong; “Red Baron” study shows that situational awareness do;
    – the helmet mounted sight was a Russian invention–wrong; the first one was built by US Navy in the 70′

YES PLEASE! Let’s get back to the topic.

Btw, the ‘Soviet F-14’ really stirs my interest here. Does anyone has the link/books etc where I can get more intro on this?

The type of planes have been shortlisted to just 3 – Typhoon, Rafale and the F-15T.

It is crunch time for the Eurofighter and the Dassault teams.

Well, if the report is true, it shows that the ‘Aliens’ are sure well-versed in earth politics!

Of all place they choose, they chose an excellent spot! A spot in which the Chinese and Indians knew that a military base built by either of them will trigger a border dispute! But a base built by neutral aliens is a different ball game! :diablo:

I’m looking foward to the day when USN F/A-18E/Fs were to encounter IRIAF’s Phoenix-armed F-14s while the former is on CAP over the Persian Gulf area.

I really pity the SH pilot/s then! Imagine, being shot down by the plane that your own country has retired! :diablo:

One of the F-16 pilots who took part in the raid is Ila Ramon, who sadly perished in the ill-fated Columbia in 2003.

I have 2 books written on the raid, will update the titles here later (AFTER CHECKING).
