Thank you Mr. Tempest. I was beginning to think I had imagined it. I’m Just glad to hear it exists.

You’ll need one of these then:-

I believe the wing on show at Coventry is on loan from the RAFM who I think have a set of mainplanes in store somewhere. There are a few props about but I donโt know how many AW Jaguars there are around to hang them off of.
Anne
Now I hope you have all said a BIG THANK YOU to Scott at WIX. You made a terrible mess of his lawn.
Anne
Who is using my photograph? ๐ฎ
Mark
Not me…I’m just the messenger ๐ฎ
See if HFL will give you a discount for the use of the photo. ๐
So who’s bidding for it. Go on you know you want it :diablo:
I don’t know may people who would work for that salary – probably suit a retired service engineer . .
Eek… ๐ฎ …and there was I thinking it wasn’t that bad a wage…more than I’m getting and you get to play with the aircraft!
Anne
I wouldn’t bother with the spinner if your depicting Z7015 as she is now as she has a late style Rotol spinner fitted anyway.
Anne
Oh by the way…very nice model!
Tail wheel, ejector stubs, later style Rotol spinner and blades along with what looks like a longer nose sujests a Mk.II airframe. The wings look like the 8 gun models found on Mk.I and Mk.IIa aircraft unless the ports for the other 4 guns have been filled in which case it would be Mk.IIb.
Anne
Can we have a Hurricane with one…can we???
By the way Daz…what’s wrong with Penicuik? There’s no place like it for double or triple glazing apparently! (This message only works for people of a certain age who were in the STV region…those who were not…think yourselves lucky).
Anne
Probably a Yokosuka K2Y1 (Mongoose powered) or K2Y2 (Gasuden Jimpu powered). These were developments of the Yokosuka K1Y1 which was a licence built adaptation of the Avro 504K.
Anne
Almost forgot. The squadron signal publication is rather good (and a lot cheaper) if your just looking for something that tells you the differences between the marks.
Anne
In the case of 137sqdn it will be the Hurricane Mk. IV you’ll be interested in.
Along with Francis Mason’s book I would also recommend the Hurricane II Manual re-published reticently by Greenhill Books on behalf of the RAF Museum. It’s not the type of book you would sit down and read cover to cover but it’s full of very good technical information and has a addendum on the Mk. IV and Sea Hurricane.

Cellulose Nitrate – As in Guncotton!!??!! ๐ฎ Best not drop it then! ๐
Well that’s what the AP says! Just don’t try to stub a fag out on it. ๐
Were, Hordern-Richmond Aircraft Ltd of Chesham Bucks, sub contractors to Dowty Rotol?
One of many who made blades for them although Hordern-Richmond had been producing Watts propellers for the Air Ministry before Rotol came into being.
