I’ve just had a look at some old photos I’ve got and confirm that it’s from a Proctor. Sadly I’ve not got any way to post the photos but I can tell you that the small slot in between the two top instruments the on/off switch for the fuel gauges.

Aaargh…I sould check what I’ve written before posting. I appear to be missing a few words from the above!

I thought they used Prentices not Proctors…I could be wrong though.

At last I can see them all. Fantastic stuff. The Armstrong Whitworth Atlas wreckage is rather interesting.

As far as I know both the IWM and RAFM Sunderlands are ex French Navy examples although with RAF service histories.

MT847 which was the Mk.XIV that was at Cosford until the late 90s is now on show at the Manchester Museum of Science & Industry. As far as I know RW388 has nothing to do with the RAF Museum.

The 17th Edition of Wrecks & Relics in 2000 had the Albemarle bits down as being in store at Charnock Richard in Lancashire. I’m sure that a couple of years ago A***plane Monthly had something about an Albemarle Project being set up along the same lines as the Whitley & Stirling projects.

There’s one of the Demoiselle replicas sitting around in bits up at the RAFM Stafford.

Hmm. Interesting but four bladed props were used on a number of marks of Mosquitos and Sea Mosquitos. Although I’m not saying that it’s not from a 618sqn Mosi…it’s just more likely that it’s form some post war variant.

Wessex HU5 XT469 is still sitting outside the Tactical Supply Wing.

As far as I know Stafford is not closing completely. Most of the units are re-locating but there will still be a small RAF presence and the DSDC will still be there. I’d be surprised if they find anything too amazing tucked away in the stores but I do know they did still have a few SUU-23 (I think that’s correct) pods for Phantoms lying about last year.
The RAF Museum Reserve Collection is hidden up at 6 Site. I managed to get a look round a while back and they have got 5 Spits, a Swordfish, a Vampire, a Dragon Rapide, a Proctor, the Morane BB fuselage and the P-40 that’s now on show at Hendon. They did say that even if Stafford were to close they wouldn’t be affected as they have a 25 year lease on the site.

Ok for the first time I’m going to post without runing it through the spell checker first so I’ve got no idea how bad my spelling is going to be.
As I suffer from the same problem I know how hard it can be dealing with peoples attatude towards dislexia. Its not their fault, its just hard to apretiate a problem when you don’t suffer from it. Over the years I’ve just learnt to develop a thick skin but some times a few of the digs get through.
Glad to see you back.

Ooh someone got there before me!:D

I don’t know what the ‘Aussie bomber’ is but I don’t see how the roundel stops it from being Australian.

Every time I put on a Mk. Ia Bonedome I’m forced to say.
“John Andrews sir.”
It’s involuntary…It just happens.
“You have control John.”
“I have control sir.”
This could get as bad as one of those BoB film threads!
