I don’t know why we are bothering to convince anyone publicly, the people who need to know have their estimates if pak say no one killed – good for them. Next time, we should drop 10x more while our bombs will kill only ants or trees. Also Adapt Air Force RoE, if we can lock any object- it should be fired at as we are not able to kill – neither terrorist, PA nor their planes. We have to try harder. Additionally we will encourage Afg and Iran – so that one martial race can fight another martial race.
while we do this, Pak can continue support terrorist groups with arms, training and money against all their neighbors as they don’t have balls to fight directly.
I hope we don’t restrict ourselves with only one successful test. To improve and re-validate, India should conduct more such tests and make the system operational at the earliest.
Who are the “we” in you?
+1 … you have to do what you have to do when two crazy nations are in the neighborhood. Especially one is trigger happy to protect so called state funded and protected non- state guys. And second one is feeding WMD and money to first one while giving peace sermons.
Time to take a short break from here … trolls like Mag76, makes me feel I am wasting my time here.

Just to add another comment regarding Russia, we are not burned but just a little bit careful this time. We might make a deal with Russia once they offer favorable terms.
Again “Follow the money”.
Other governments which might share in a £10 billion development cost include some Middle East countries and maybe India, if India can get over being burned by the Russians with PAKFA. That £10 billion is a big pill for any UK political party to swallow and is a non-starter, IMO.
So the choices are:
1. No FCAS, because UK cannot afford to bear the majority share of £10 billion development costs
2. Team with the NGAD developer and get part of the action
I don’t think India will be interested in this project at this point of time …
– 15 Billion pounds for 80+ fighter production – is way too expensive to own and maintain 200+ fighter force.
– Contribute another 2-3 billion pounds for development- for zero to the minimum know-how transfer.
– We all know such projects start with small amount and as time progress requires at least 2x the initial budget money.
– sounds unviable – 6th Gen fighter using 4.5+ generation engine. Please remember India did not select Eurojet for Tejas.
Alert: High-risk investment !!!
First home-grown submarine launched, missile operationalised after 2 decades of development
Kept under wraps for several years and inducted in the Navy a couple of months ago, the SLBM, code-named B-05 was secretly test fired back-to-back from indigenously built nuclear-powered submarine INS Arihant off Visakhapatnam coast on August 11 and 12.
An official associated with the mission on Sunday told ‘The Express’ that three rounds of the world-class missile were tested during the first phase user trial and it was a roaring success. While two tests were conducted on August 11, one was put under trial the next day in full operational configuration.
“All three missiles were fired from the submarine positioned nearly 20-meter deep inside the sea, about 10-km off the Vizag coast. It perfectly followed the pre-designated trajectory before zeroing on the target with high accuracy reaching close to zero circular error probability,-” the official confirmed over phone from New Delhi.
Regarding next gen fighter, do you think China will give you full access to its tech like for JF-17. I have some serious doubts on that, how many countries will be operating 5th Gen fighter in next decade? I think, we will be able to count on our fingers. I am quite sure India and Pakistan will not be on the list. Having few TD, LSP will not make it ready to fight.
^ From your perspective, Pakistan is light years ahead of India. Good luck and best wishes to you!!
It is useless to discuss with such thinking, but still you are forgetting TDs, LSP when you count only the numbers. Also keep the long term numbers in mind, confirmed 123 SP mk1 n mk1a. And another commitment but unconfirmed 201 mk2.
Regarding the import contents, it is better to have 40% LCA vs 100% JF-17 imported with 100% LCA vs 0% JF-17 in-country design n development. You know it but choose to ignore it.
I dont know why we always end up debating LCA – JF-17, it is sort of useless. Both exists and I hope they dont face each other, and if they do face – let those talk for themself.
What are the production and order backlog numbers during last 5 years? If we can have break-up of numbers model wise, it will be great. Or any website showing this number will be great.
Thanks in advance!!
Oh yeah … B-1B each one for half a billion, sorry we are not oil producing country or world super power. We might take 20 years to develop one for ourselfs. Thanks 🙂
I wish GoI/MoD seriously have a look at these planes and buy the blueprints and source codes along with 40 planes. Then ensure, more are build locally using the latest materials and whatever else is possible during next 10 years.
But it will be difficult to get my wish fulfilled as Russia will again ask for a leg and arm 🙁 .. so RIP the bautiful and powerful machine.
Thanks for your replies regarding Su-35 and its relation to existing inventory of J-6/7/10/11.
It seems lessons of Su-35 will be incorporated into J-20/31 or next gen of planes, which make sense 🙂
PS: Was surprised to hear .. China has no TVC experience
Congrats China for having their hands on 4+ gen Su-35. What I dont understand, while J-20 beat older 3rd and 4th gen fighter and F-31 v2 just made flights. why China still imported this? Any inputs on it? Thanks
May be defencetalk also does not publish neutral news because subscribers like you … I waited a few days to see if you will publish Agni-5 success article.
