Interesting PoV from English side, may be I should go and discuss to death like Argentina invading …

    1. When India is deploying more fire power on the border in long term.
    2. Building more infrastructure on the border, although at much slower rate.
    3. Completely ignoring land grabbing by China. By dismissing as Indian PoV.
    4. When USA is moving 60% of its assets to South Asia and to backup Japan and other smaller countries around China.

Days gone world powers, who’s a** kicked by China for meeting Dalai Lama. No doubt future belong to Asia and North America; to be specific to China and USA.

Thank you for your valuable time Gentlemen.

    Allies for India :
Political : USA, France, Japan, Vietnam, Bhutan, Burma(?), Nepal(?), Bangladesh(?)
    Military : None

    Allies for China :
Political : North Korea, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma(?), Nepal(?)
    Military : Pakistan

Neutral : Russia, Canada, Germany, South Korea and small nations around south China see.

As there is not much published on Indo-Sino on latest developments. Sino-Japan is not exactly same but it is pointer, how China and Japan are playing cat and mouse game. In case of Japan, it is very small area and they get confronted face to face on each occasion. As USA is directly involved, the news gets printed.

But in case of India, as most of the place is remote and have limited or no infrastructure, even GoI don’t realised in many cases that border is changed unless local guys report. By then weeks passed and Chinese troops already get backup as they have infrastructure to previous base and grabbed another piece of land. On top of that GoI, MoD try to provide cover by denying it most of the time. India is asking for Chinese claimed area in standard military maps for decades, we haven’t got it till today. It suits China’s interest to keep the border changing every passing day.

Well if the Indians hang on a bit I am sure we could flog them a shiny new Aircraft Carrier!

Spoke like a true arms dealer :highly_amused:

Well I don’t think we could use such expensive and shiny thing without first training on it. So No, Big Thanks 😎

Do you have small gifts for us 😀

And Chinese escalation is only in the eyes of the Indians. I admit to little knowledge of the situation but do not find your scenario that convincing. If the Indians remain passive what do the Chinese do? Other than attack and cross the border. Then you have the potential for war. Is that credible?

Charlie … are you confused or trying to avoid the discussion on hand? It is ok, to ask some questions before you put forward your opinion.

Yes, Indian were passive since couple of years back. That’s why we are lacking in infrastructure and military build up on the border area. We are starting getting active, that is why you hear reports in the new paper and even sometime in parliament. But the problem is like 1959-1962 was short period for a young nation to prepare for a war in hostile environment where we had never posted a single army unit. There was no doctrine or knowledge of the local areas except local help.

If things so completely out of hands then it will be loss for the Asia or world. Lets keep that part for another thread and discount it at this moment.

Who wants a war? That is why so far India is not escalating the situation. But there is a threshold, after which reaction will come from other side. Once action and reaction starts, things get out of control too easily.

Independent news on this account are difficult to find, as most countries don’t care and others don’t dare to write anything against China. Everyone know how Chinese react when D word is mentioned anywhere in world.

We know India will face it alone military wise that is why I mentioned political allies e.g. Japan and Vietnam.

On lookers/Neutral like Europe, USA and Russia. Who will provide hardware at premium price. Like Europe, USA and Russia to India and Russia to China.

I will be interesting to see how smaller but important nations around India react especially Burma, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal.

So what is being done on diplomatic action, accept that GoI and MoD is letting the water flow under the bridge for now

Chinese clearing forest cover to grab border land

Sources said this was a new development as earlier, Chinese troops merely engaged in muscle flexing through intrusions, patrols or short stays on the Indian side. “It has been observed in the recent past that in Arunachal Pradesh, several forest areas along the border have been cleared by Chinese troops. They have carried away timber and other forest produce. There is also evidence of make-shift timber cutting units in the area,” said an officer from the security establishment.

Sources said this was a way of asserting ownership of the region by the Chinese. “It is basically a way of saying that the natural resources of the region is ours,” the officer said. The August 13 incursion in Arunachal Pradeh’s Chaglagam area by Chinese troops, when they came 20 km inside India’s territory and stayed for three days, is also being cited as a notable change in the Chinese incursion pattern.

It was not a game, things could easily hot under such circumstance. It is quite clear Chinese troops were checking the limits of Indian response. The commander of India party kept his cool

Commenting on the speculation that India will be buying or lease 2 Kilos as replacement of INS Sindhurakshak.

It is my opinion that India will not buy/lease any kilo, when we are inducting Arihant class subs and Scorpene subs will follow soon. It makes more sense to order subs which we can build and repair ourself then sending each time to Russia.

If India is thinking to lease any sub then it make sense to lease another nuke sub to add on to the capability. Even new ordered kilo
    1. will not appear from thin air, it will take time
    2. will be different then existing subs of the same class.
    3. older generation will slowly start retiring and what to do with only 1-2 subs for another 20 years.

I don’t think we will buy any new kilo subs as time for these is coming to an end for us.

Lease of another nuclear boat has more probability as we can’t win in number game with our potential main adversary. In that sense one more or less does not matter much but incident is a big shock.

For now it is less protected but not in coming years. Any country which host any military asset will be strike first and taken out in case of any war with China. We will not afford to put off fire here and there. Such tactical targets are continue identified and marked. This “string of pearls” are good for gathering information and spying but has no value in case open conflict. As these assets can’t be protected from Indian wrath once things starts rolling. We have nothing against those countries but no chance will be taken. If these countries acts against India then India keep the right to protect its interest.

Our air carriers will be put to use at places where we will get keep getting surprise element.

but a plan was good enough for last minute, it is a always evolving.

It may be technical and design achievement … can UK use it to its full potential? I guess not, it is build for pride not because of a requirement. Something similar to middle east. I remember how UK tried to sell these but could not due to huge cost involved.
