This was not far from my home – in fact I wondered why there were fire engines driving around apparently lost with blues and twos on as I headed home at 7pm that night.
RIP
Get well soon Jim! I’m not as regular on the forum as I should be, but we met at Old Warden over Christmas.
I’ve had some good results with Tamiya’s weathering kits – worth a try. Got some pics of my Tiger I at home I can post if you’re interested.
We will show solidarity with the US, there is no other justification needed I’m afraid. Probably goes back to the ‘Axis of Evil’ days, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was something in the old UN mandates after the Korean War that obliges member states to protect the sovereignty of Soth Korea.
We went to war in Iraq a few years ago for thinner reasons remember.

The South Koreans would love a unified Korea, at least the ones I’ve talked to while I’ve been there – it’s a deep national wound for them.
As regards troop recalls, I would think it prudent to get our rapid reaction force onto a state of alert just in case it escalates, it’s not like they’ve set off on C41’s armed for bear. Wouldn’t be surprised if certain black clad Herefordhire gents were on their way though (not based on anything other than that’s what I’d be doing if I was PM).
Saddam Hussein caught us napping in 1990, so why wouldn’t the alert state go up when the DPRK gets mouthy. Oh, and unlikey as it might seem I would imagine there is a lot more intelligence available to the powers that be than we could imagine.
The DPRK is an embarresment to China but they need to extract themselves without loss of face so I reckon there’s going to be a lot of diplomatic shouting while the US and RoK surgically remove the aggressive military elements from the North’s leadership.
We’ll see…

I think the engines are made from fairly exotic alloys so apart from impact damage then I don’t think corrosion will be much of an issue – aluminium and magnesium would not be high on my list of materials for an engine knocking out that temperatures that the F-1 did.
I will try this tonight but it’s a huge thumbs up by my online squad mates and apparently the ATAG server had over 80 pilots in it last night!
See you there..
Can’t go wrong with Hobbyking for cheap and cheerful!
Thanks Mystic – have done so..
I’ll go with you on Japanese guitars – I have a few but my favourite is my Takemine Dreadnought acoustic (elctro acoustic? you can plug it in if you want). It always sounds sweet and it is ‘there’ with no plugging in or mucking about if I don’t want to!
Having said that, I still lust after a Les Paul Custom.

My flight to Korea allowed me to catch up on some movies I’ve missed over the last 12 months:
Dredd: As a childhood purchaser of the very first copy of 2000AD, I loved this. Much darker and more true to the original than the Stallone version (which I also enjoyed to be fair). Heres hoping for many many sequels!
Wreck It Ralph: Ok it’s a kids movie but the choice wasn’t great and I needed to sleep! I slept through the last 20 minutes but from what I saw of it was entertaining.
End of Watch: Brilliant, violent, tense and well acted. Recommended.
