Ta for that advice – I was expecting a completely negative response! I’m attracted to the idea because: a) it’s cheap and b) it’s paid for up front.

I accept that any club here worth it’s salt would insist on quite a few hours familiarisation/retraining before allowing a US JAA PPL loose on it’s aircraft (I certainly would if it were my machines).

Dunno – early days yet!

Alastair, the bike(s) have to go I’m afraid – SWMBO and I wasted far too much time last year on them! Unfortunately we’ve also been touched by the reaper a little bit too close to home too often and it’s taken the fun out of it a bit (although the initial rush to the morgue this year appears to have slowed at last). I still love 2 wheels but will confine it to trackdays where nothing is coming the other way!

I live under the base leg at Coventry – convenience dictates a certain level of commitment!! It’s a 2 mile journey and most of that is on dual carriageway.. At least I can check the weather from my bedroom window. Having said that I’m quite spoilt for choice if I look further afield.

However, I’ve got to fund this habit yet. Can you sell Kidneys on Ebay? The only problem with Ebay is she who must be obeyed (SWMBO) buys stuff quicker than I can sell it…
