thanks for your comments, I’ve studied the layout of Osh but it is really useful to know what is likely to land where, I’m not too interested in photographing Cessna after Cessna but Warbird after Warbird is a different matter, do the warbirds generally land on 27/09 or 18/36?

The tip about standing toward the Southerly end of 18/36 is appreciated too.

Is the situation any easier in the evening (say after 6pm) for photographing the static aircraft?

    Thanks

    Chris

    Hi all

    Hi All

Been watching this thread with interest, Janie, yes Eurostar is going and he’s bringing 3 other brits with him! Never been before but looking forward to it (only 25 days before we leave the UK for Osh!), not sure how everything works but guess learning and meeting new friends will be part of the experience.

My main reason for going other, than the whole spectacle of the event, is photography so if anybody has any hints and tips that haven’t already been mentioned please feel free to share them, i’m interested in things like where best to be located for landing shots and also where the best positions are whilst the airshow is in progress.

    Bye for now

As promised a few images from the Photocall Day held on Friday.

Not a bad day, shame the wind was not blowing from the opposite direction so that aircraft were landing in front of you and not at the far end of the runway to where we were.

A bit longer to look around the static at the end of the day would have been nice too.

I’ve been using an Epson R200 for 12 months or so with great results up to A4 size using 3rd party inks and paper but have recently bought a Canon iP5000 printer (£140) and due to the higher resolution have to say that the Canon is very noticeably better in quality than the Epson.
