hiya

i really need help :confused:

im up to decaling my etendard: should i give it one of the first 5 serials of the mirage.eq-5s (figuring that the eq-5s replaced the etendards) or shoudl i take a serial from before that of the first EQ-5?

check this out: its an Ethiopian mig-23BN with the roundel fudged over….but check out the flare box beneath it! same type of flare box IAI put on Ugandas mig-21-2000s!

there were reports of Ethiopian MiG-21s and some 23s being upgraded to a standard similar to the IAI lancer program, though stalled on funds….. i think we may just have some proof that it has taken place!! 😀

i suspect the f-7s also came via egypt, good point about the 21mfs, maby the egyptians wanted to keep theirs 😀

wow, i dont know how to say thank you enough!! 😀

i know u must be sick of my questions by now 😮 dont suppose u know any backround history of the type?I was figuring these might have been delivered with the second batch of miG-23BNs to give ETAF a BVR asset…only reference i found is that possibly 16 may have been delivered :confused:

MIGMan,

The first MIG-23 with its serial blacked (picture is mine, btw!) out is not an ML; it is a UB version. I might be able to get you a very good pic. Give me few days. The second one was taken in Assab airport. I know the mechanic who was working on it prior to the abandonement of the base.

hiya guys!

thanks fro the responces, really appreciated!!

been doing research from anti-cluster bomb sources and i found Ethiopia also uses chilian CB-500s…….which where also supplied by manufacturer to iraq, and more interestingly: india for their MiG-23BNs 😀

so it seems pretty safe to assume the cb-500s Ethiopia got are for the mig-23s also, so ill make some of those 🙂
