Whilst doing some research I stumbled across these. For French Air Force? Thought I’d just share them here in case anyone finds them useful, rather than them just getting lost or forgotten about on my system.

The Whirlwind you mentioned from EBay is HAR.10 XJ727 which was formerly at the museum at Manston and ended up at Richborough power station sadly lying on her side. Having been involved in her recovery from Dishforth she deserves a better fate.

Looks like XJ727 is now at Combat Paintball in Thetford, according to http://www.demobbed.org.uk/

Sintra wrote No, no RAF Phoon has been stored.

There are about 9 Typhoons stored at Shawbury
Also 3 or 4 stored at Coningsby
Plus some undergoing RTP at Coningsby then scrapped
Plus a few frames in storage at Warton

Yeah DaveF68 you’re right, they didn’t appear to be made available generally.

Hardly “straight to scrap”. They were in storage for about a decade before being disposed of.

Good news. Quite an under-represented type. Just the ones at FAST and Long Kesh in the UK AFAIK.

Maybe we should get back to Typhoon?

OK, how about the recent announcement of the intention to get the RAF to 8 frontline Typhoon squadrons.

    https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/royal-air-force-form-additional-typhoon-squadron/

Add them to 29 Sqn (the OCU), plus 41 TES, plus 1435 Flt in the Falklands, and the disbanded 17 Sqn (OEU), that comes to 12 RAF Typhoon units that will have operated the jet.

    Not forgetting Vulcan.

I don’t think there is an Avro Vulcan at Pima Museum.

So glad the Pima guys will be getting a Spit. When I was last there it was number one on their list. For somewhere the other side of the world they probably have the best British aircraft collection outside the Uk. Off the top of my head they have Bolingbroke, Hurricane, Viscount, Gannett AEW, Shackleton, Gnat, Jet Provost, Lightning, Hunter, Vampire, Harrier GR3, Jaguar and a Tornado even though its a German one.

And Lysander, Beaufort, Bermuda, Lynx, Gazelle…..etc

Here is one, though it looks like it did while it was in storage in the UK:-

    Hi all

I really I am just looking for a list of airframes that survive in the UK at the present moment.

    Thanks
