You could get round that no problem, simply make up a frame, cannot ever remember putting a pin in the chute with a flag on it, on the hook yes, but not the chute… Looking good.
Jags had TWO different types of brake chute housings. One was the “pointy” cone shaped one (as pictured), which came out along with the chute. The other was a hinged (downwards), much “stubbier” and “flatter” cover which DID have a pin (in the port side) to prevent the spring loaded chute door from opening inadvertently.
Nice selection
Good to see that XA847 has not been forgotten, and at least is kept under cover, by the looks of a recent photograph on http://www.demobbed.org.uk

I believe it was actually designated P.1127 (RAF). The Harrier name was only used on the production examples.
hi,
I had checked demobbed that shows 2 UK ones,i,ve since been told there is also 2 Egyptian one,s there…regards
jack…
Try EuroDemobbed
I’m told there is a Jaguar still flying out of Boscombe Down, in an all black colour scheme. If so, what is it being used for ?
Is there a picture of it on here anywhere ?
There is not. Probably mistaken for an Alphajet.
I’ve just popped around to the local ATC where XV460 is… Well, I should say was as she’s gone. I’ve been told she was sold through MOD disposals to a private buyer! Most probably Jet Art or Everett Aero!
XV460 went to Everett
Noted on Demobbed is an image of a Royal Navy schemed Dragonfly in derelict in Syria in the late 1980’s. Does anyone know why it’s there?
Interesting find, looks genuine enough, no idea why though.

Would the Museum at Wattisham be an appropriate location, as P-38s used to fly from there?
Yes, the most obvious one is a pair of swept back aerials under the nose on the HM2
Is the store at Stafford ever opened for visits by the public?
There is a visit report from 2009 at http://www.wattisham.org.uk
So it looks as though there are 3 preserved indoors in National collections (Hendon, Duxford and Yeovilton) plus another dozen or so complete airframes displayed outside (gate guards, etc).
http://www.demobbed.org.uk/aircraft.php?type=833 seems to list quite a few more than that.
Pagen -No23Squadron which disbanded in 2009 at Waddington used to be a Phantom unit at Wattisham. The Phantom was a Squadron display airframe.
No8 Squadron which is a current Sentry unit flew Hunters in the Middle East hence the interest.
True, but 14 Sqn, which is a current Shadow unit, is a previous Phantom operator. Likewise, Waddington based 54 Sqn and 56 Sqn are also previous Phantom operators.
About a month ago I was walking past Boscombe Down and I saw a yellow rescue Sea King on a trailer parked in the north east of the airfield minus main rotors and the tail rotor unit. Two weeks later I saw another Sea King, this time olive green, parked in the same place on the back of a trailer. Does anybody know what they are doing at Boscombe?
Aren’t JARTS now based here, which would account for roaded airframe movements?
