Interesting article Mr Rowell, thanks for bringing the story and pictures to our attention.
Stunning photos the best I’ve seen, excellent presentation!
Interesting article, dutch aircraft, no doubt a dutch pilot, at a dutch airport, how can he get this one wrong?
Any passenger DC-8’s still flying?
Who operates the SP out of Bom?
Didn’t realise the 737-200 was banned too, well thanks for the update gentlemen, I suppose not much Russian stuff (TU-154, IL62) etc is allowed through? Does this noise ban also effect any prop stuff too such as AN12 or Civilian Hercs etc?
Nice photos well done! Whats the B747?
Best: LCY London City, quick, efficent and no a no nonsense airport
Worse: Heathrow, crowded, too many queues and overkill on shops, not a people friendly airport, more like a inner city shopping centre.
So is this the same as the BA Airbus 318 flights out of LCY then?
Love the dirty Avro 146 on rotation, nice one, any of a Air France A318 anyone?
Once again Top draw photos thankyou for sharing them.
Top draw stuff! Nice to see some good props come through Manchester.
I have flown Premium econonmy on A300-600. Yes it makes a huge difference from normal economy, wider seats, more leg room, drinks (lots of them) when you board and wait for push back etc. Best place to sit was window (for obvious reasons) in front of bulkhead, seats go right back without disturbing anyone behind. I got the night flight out and its the first time that I’ve got a good nights sleep arriving refreshed at the destination. I’ve also travelling upperclass on Virgin, couldn’t get use to the seating configuration on this class whereby you are sitting with your back against the window looking face on to someone in the middle aisle. Apart from the food/meals in upper class, I prefer Premium economy purely beacuse of the conventional seating arrangements. Enjoy, its a good airline and good service.
Weren’t these guys banned from flying in the UK and some other countries in Europe a few years back? Poor maintenance etc…I stand to be corrected on this but petty sure they were.
Seems to be a lot of 737’s having trouble in storms recently.
Look on the right hand side links, there is a 4 part documentary (National Geographic) on how Adam Air 574 met it’s fate. Explains the whole story to this tragedy.
