Thanks for reminding us all that we are indeed entitled to our own opinions, but if that is your view, why do you get so angry and mocking when others do?

    Sauron

Might i suggest that you read your own posting to see your answer to this question….or maybe you were trying to be funny????? ….dont give up the day job !!! ๐Ÿ˜€

i take exception to someone who, very obviously , cant be bothered or more likely just cant answer the points raised and instead reverts to old habits of talking down, sarcasm and plain rudeness…fight fire with even more fire isnt that GW’s policy??? …

Good tread ….another example of Red tape gone mad!

thank god that the death penalty was abolished…..if this had happened in the US…

There is, after all, no way back from the grave.

This forum is about weapons of war. They are used in a war to kill.

but only to kill where absolutely necessary and then only when those who have been targeted must be killed …well thats the theory anyway…AND its not something that we should take joy in…well at least the normal people in the world dont!!

They do not exist simply to fly at air shows for our entertainment. If you cannot deal with that, then you should perhaps consider joining an anti-war organization and get serious about your opposition to war. If you are simply making a political statement then say so openly.

everyone is entitled to their opinion as much as you might like to deny that…that is a basic part of this great western democratic world that we extol so much .Until someone responsible for running this forum tells us different then why should we NOT say what we feel?Sauron

So here we go again…the mighty Sourone speaks…tremble in your shoes those who believe in freedom, democracy and fair play !! ๐Ÿ˜€

Judging by it’s appearance, the Meteor tail seen in the photos behind the silver Spitfire and our sad ancient rock hero, looked a really old mark, anyone have any info on this, no doubt it was obtained in some dodgy deal by the Israeli government of the time, no offence meant, thats what it was all about then.
How many really ancient Meteors are left world wide, they can’t all be listed, surely, and how many are back where they belong.

    As far as i know the IAF only operated F 8’s & T7’s ?

Thanks for the photos and the info!

Isreal’s first Spit was actually a downed Eqyptian example whch belly landed on a beach after egtting hit by AA..Repaired from dump recovered bits..May1948…it served for quite some time before being destroyed in an accident..

    As far as i know they sourced further aircaraft as follows;

    50 ex Czech mk9’s 1948/49

    30 ex Italian mk9’s 1950/51

Mustangs arrived ( officially ? ) starting in ’52 from Sweden.

I wonder what became of the Egyptian Lancs, Stirlings & Halifaxs…didnt know they even had them untill recently!

Surely the most ingenious, cost-effective and hair-raising โ€˜armamentโ€™ must go to the Israeli Air Force P-51 Mustangs.

During one of the Arab-Israeli conflicts these were deliberately flown through the wires of the desert telephone lines! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Oct ’56 …apparently they were fitted out with hooks and winches , which didnt work…so they used their wings instead ! worked too !

    Not in the U.S.
But I’ve noticed “international” Ford names do pop up on different vehicles around the world. Like Maverick was a 1970’s sedan in the U.S. and the name is no longer used there.

    Also:

    Avenger….Dodge (and possibly a Hillman?)

    Yep…Hillman /Chrysler /Rootes (?)
