How would I feel…upset, would I demand compensation…….no. The reason is simple, becouse as much as the loss of friends and relatives in unnatural circumstances is upsetting there is no way that money can end the pain. Anyone who claims it can has no idea what they are talking about.
If you want to properly make up for this then be sensible and thoughtful about it not emotional. Engage in the sort of economic and social improvement programs that any government should oversee for impoverished or socially troubled peoples in its state. People seem to forget that when things such as these happen it is the entire population and not just the minority that become angered, the correct response for this social healing process is economic and social integration in a passive manner enabling both sides to allow the past to be just that. In the case of the Aborigine’s, give them social and educational opportunities, invest in infrastructure and industry in their communities and provide them with the right to live in their traditional manner if they choose. If you create a scenario in which there is constant reminder of crimes long over and unnecessarily make wealthy their victims you risk not only leaving the wound open but deepening it with coming generations.

People who were directly effected by this horrendous & disgusting crime are still alive and still living with the effects of what they went through. So YES the government of Australia should have apologised on behalf of the previous adminisatrations and the electorate that put them in place and should not have had to be forced into doing something that anyone with any sense of morals could have seen was the RIGHT thing to do .
