[QUOTE] “Top Gear crash victim Richard Hammond is being lined up as the next presenter of the vintage teatime word quiz Countdown. The star, currently recovering from a 300mph crash, could take over from Des Lynham after Des announced he’d like to quit at the end of the year “

    I suppose you have a point….

I guess something like the feet thing just sounds so odd to me that it’s hard to comprehend how it could offend anyone.

Take heart in the fact that while I might not like the Arabic Muslim culture, I will respect it enough to do as told when I get sent overseas, as indeed I am representative of my country and I should do anything and everything to help our image.

I don’t think the opinion over there will ever change in favor of the United States, but I suppose there’s no point in me helping to make it even more negative….

Well said! and that isnt being patronising! just know that one person can make a difference..

Said it before ….” life’s a dance you live as you go…sometimes you lead sometimes you follow “…lead on that man πŸ˜€

Not voting for an enemy-of-the-state democrat or republican.

I suppose bearing in mind that today is the anniversary of the “outing ” of the Watergate scandal it is easy to see why people would get totally fed up with a electoral system that is increasingly irrelevant to a true democratic process.

but what alternatives do we have?? put in the least damaging fool available? put up with second best? why should we!!

My point is that I don’t understand why a small thing like that should be offensive.

I don’t mind what people do when they come here…as long as they aren’t burning the flag then as far as I’m concerned, they are free to do what they please.

I’m in no position to tell them what they should and should not do.

To them it is worse than burning the flag, it is an offence to their god and their beliefs.

To be a ” Devil’s advocate ” a flag is after all just a bit of coloured cloth hanging on a stick so wheres the harm in burning it ?? and no that is not my attitude at all..i would be seriously offended to see the flag of my nation burnt. But do you understand what i mean?… its a question of perspective!!!

I dont know, and its no one’s business other than yours,if you are a christian but imagine how it would feel to a see the bible burnt or torn into pieces and thrown into the street..

Other peoples have different cultures and they have the right to expect those cultures, traditions and beliefs to be respected.

and who would you vote for ?? Green?? would Nader have been better ?? Live with it these guys are morons and its the same everywhere , out here its just morons with a lot of power !!! Vote for the one that in your opinion is less of a moron , and this country will be just fine .

has to be an alternative to the corruptive influence of power. on those we allow to run our countries..We have and have had the same problems here from local governemnt level to the very top positions in national Government…

We are setting too low a standard in those we accept in public office…but how do we change that?
