Thunderchild,
Not sure when Flypast started but i have one from 1989. I started getting the mag monthly from 1990 and an index was available from that year onwards at least.
Very sad to see that this brave and resourceful veteran has passed on .
May he rest in peace

Dear God…just when you thought it was safe to get back in the water ! Only read a bit of it but its the same old **** as before. And to think i at one time gave him the benefit of the doubt!
Interesting though his analogy on Titanic running out of steam…i always thought she had too much steam up for her own good when she went down…wasn’t she going too quick against her Captain’s wishes ?
What a load of horlicks !
how about a statue of John Prescott?
Take one ‘ell of a plinth !:dev2:
I really don’t want to go through all of this Spitfire v’s Hurricane stuff again…
But, we enthusiasts have to remember that “Johnny Public” identifies with the Spitfire, and not the Hurricane. If we were to put a Hurricane on that plinth, then I’d bet my bottom dollar that most of them would think it was a Spitfire anyway!!
Regards;
Steve
Best solution is a compromise …so why not one of each wing tip to wing tip ?
There was a recent news story on UK TV stating that a USN carrier was being sunk as a ‘dive reef’. The news clip was very short, so more details are needed. Man, that will take some exploring!
My original post has expanded a bit…
Bri 🙂
some good shots here;

Gentlemen,
I strongly advise you to read frankvw’s posting once again. (see above)
I doubt he made it purely for the good of his health, and I assure you that he speaks for all of the General Discussion moderators.
Please bear this in mind.
Thank you

Forgive my leprechaun sense of humour !
I was only trying to show his lordship that a smile beats a grimace every time …unless its caused by a case of trapped wind !:diablo:

Anyone know why China wouldn’t allow U.S. sailors to go into Hong Kong for a port of call during the Thanksgiving Holiday? I understand it’s something most Chinese don’t celebrate, but it just seems rather mean to not allow these people to see their families (many of whom probably flew to Hong Kong for the occasion).
Also, I heard that a pair of U.S. minesweepers requested refuge in port from a storm and they were denied by Beijing.
I understand the U.S. and China aren’t the best of friends, but does simple humanity not outweigh political differences in certain situations?
This all just seems…..well…mean.
so much for the idea of mankind united against the elements..the unspoken law that you didnt deny sanctuary to a Sailor fighting the elements..
Holy Smoke ..We agree on something !!! 😀
