Hi Dave, really hope you get somewhere with the project, have you ever contacted Richard Grace re Typhoon/Tempest stuff? I met him in Feb and he mentioned he had some elevators,if the fuselage tail section is the same as Tempest is it worth exploring whether there are any spare sections with the current projects in the UK, maybe one could be used as a pattern. I am amazed by the stuff on ebay like that tail wheel & oleo that still exists, the more you promote your Typhoon then more will appear I hope!! best regards, Pete
Hi gents, I went through their shop after Wanaka’14, they were very generous people with their time but they had a huge amount going on in the shop and the DH88 did not seem a priority, sometimes its just a little hard to respond to every email, wish them the best,Pete
Still looking for Dowty sequence valves & actuators for SeaFury wing folding system, sequence valves may be the same as EE Canberra nose gear sequence valve but not sure, Pete
Chris!! is it you?? pete
A 310 bottle wont work, they have electric undercarriage :))) , maybe 402 C series as they went to hyd gear, cheers, Pete
Haha yes Mike but one has 5 blades & one has 4 and the engines turn in opposite directions:)))))
Hi Aerovet, still at Wangaratta waiting to be packed up!! Owner discussed on previous Fury posts & is in France. he also owns a Hurricane & is a nice guy!!!
Hi All, have not seen any mention of TFC’s Sea Fury T-20, is it not on the flying program? Hope the airshow is awesome!!!cheers, Pete
What remains are there of MW401, is it as complete as 763 or has it been a parts donor?
Hi Windhover & Air Ministry, great work on the restorations!! I am trying to locate some control knobs like the black ones on Air Ministrys work and Windhovers start control panel, can you tell me if you have a source or were they manufactured, best regards, Pete
Thanks ET, have seen a few Centaurus but never a Mk 5 with the carb on the back, I assume Nixons are doing the engine or at least they were, will that change? Did Gerry have any Tempest sections or parts left after this rebuild, I have made some enquiries but there is no real confirmation that there might be more. Really looking forward to seeing this one progress, cheers, Pete
P&W ??? Will your CAA allow it to fly with an “experimental” engine installation? Don’t get me wrong, I cant wait to see it fly but I am keen to find out more re the engine installation!!!! Centaurus’ rule!!Pete
To reply in short, the news crew was not invited, they sniffed out the story! I have never contacted anyone re stealing thunder, I responded to a facebook pm which contained not a lot of sense in which I suggested I considered it a privelige to post info on a restoration I had plenty to do with, that’s it and anything else is not worth repeating! I will attempt to post pics as soon as I can get access to emails following the first flight. Dave, I don’t think there has been a Corsair in Oz since the end of WW2 so to many of us its pretty exciting, til next time, best regards,Pete
Hi All, its a shame Phil didn’t check his details before sprinting to get the first post in, the Corsair was built in ’47 so its a little late for the war but we moved it on sunday morning from the rest. shed to the airport for engine runs & taxi tests, I will hopefully get in before Phil to announce the first flight but don’t like my chances, cheers, Pete
Sea Fury T-20,dare I ask why the engine is coming out, hope its nothing major, best regards,Pete
