Hi All,dare I ask what an FB-20 is:D,cheers,Pete from Australllllia
Hi Black Knight,I believe part of it was sold to Guido Zuccoli here in Australia as part of a spares package, Guido purchased a couple of containers of various parts to assist in the three rebuilds here and I remember seeing a centre section painted red with a wing the same colour and blue & red stripes on the tip.Since the ex German aircraft had no stripe I assume this was G-FURY,cheers,Pete
Might be a little while before the Belgian one gets there, the engine is still here in Darwin in a box waiting for shipping instructions to the engine rebuilder in the U.S.:D Pete
Thanks Michael, must remember to spell his name correctly next time!:D Pete
Hi FAH619 & Zorro 7,regarding the unknown s/no for FAH608,I found the data plate you described and it has the s/no A10-353 which I know you gents can cross reference to a U.S Bu no,looking forward to a response on this ongoing saga, best regards for the new year,Pete
Have heard on the grapevine that TFC have purchased another Sea Fury in Germany, any news from Matthius recently on their projects,I enjoyed his updates,Pete
Hi gents, the answer can be found on wix facebook, apparently the website maxed out the server, regards,Pete
Hi all,VX281 looks complete in that last pic,are the engine woes sorted, would be great to see it online with RNHF,any info Lee? Cheers,Pete
If you gents make it to Darwin don’t forget the Corsair under resto here,it has a NZ connection and is lookin’ pretty good so far (other peoples comments, not mine:diablo:)Pete
BUMP.any news on the tender winner??regards,Pete
Hi Phil, interesting sideline,I work for National Jet Systems here in Darwin. The funny thing is National Jet is owned by a company registered in the U.K.called Cobham, apparently started by Sir Alan Cobham and specialising in inflight refueling and special mission equipment like airborne coastal surveillance, small world,eh!!!Cheers,Pete
Hi all,on the WIX registry VX309 & VZ345 are listed as T-20’s and are both in storage as spares holdings for the RNHF.Lee,you may be best able to answer this, are both still reasonably intact?VZ 345 is supposed to have a twisted fuse from a landing incident,is this severe enough to prevent restoration? Are both stripped of all parts?Just asking out of curiosity as I feel a lottery win coming up soon.Best regards,Pete
Martin, that link is fantastic,I’ve never seen pics of the German tugs before other than photos of individual aircraft. Thanks,Pete
Thanks for the info Benno,I may have the wrong Fury as it has been suggested that the one coming here is a T-20,I guess time will tell, cheers,Pete
Hi all, interesting,I thought all the ex-German target tugs were T-20’s or has this had some cosmetic alterations?Either way,a little rumour in this part of the world is that it is coming downunder shortly,YIIIPPPEEEE!cheers,Pete
