I remembered from a very old magazine (nearly two decades old!) speculating about potential Chinese fighters and bombers. There was two variable geometry projects there one involving a Q-5 type airframe (Q-6?) and the other more similar to the JH-7.

It was known as “The Chinese Military Machine”.

There indeed was three designs. One design took after the likes of
the Mirage (that’s the cool one with rounded off deltas); one resembles a Mig-23
(this one sports a geometric swept wings); and the other is something like a Tornado
but with fixed wings. They were ambitious for their times those days.

Ask Deino about it. He have all the resources.

Distinctions: It’s the only Chinese fighter bomber that is nuke capable.

Interesting that the Q-5E is said to carry the targeting pod while the F carries the two LS-500J LGB’s……

Why not have one designation and in practice have one aircraft carry the pod while another carries the two bombs.

Of course self-designation is even better. Does the weight of the pod and two LGB’s not allow the Q-5 to take-off? Surely that’s not the case.

Seems like smaller LGB’s like those in the 250-kg class should be used for an aircraft like the Q-5. (i.e. as seen on Super Etendards with the GBU-12). A load of perhaps four LS-250J’s (?), two tanks, one designator, pod, and two AAM’s for self defense would be perfect.

Alternatively I guess two LS-500J’s, two smaller outboard tanks, and one targeting pod would work.

Anyone have theories on why two variants for this LGB delivery system?

Is the pod the same as the Blue Sky pod supposedly carried by the JH-7 and possibly J-10?

With all the commotions about foreign assitances, here
are what might have been the next generation of Q-5s. And, that belly intake?
It clearly have this almost J-10 genises to it doesn’t it?

倾向于沈阳提出的歼轰一8方案的，但由于此时歼一8原型机尚未定型，该方案

强6是在米格一23MC的基础 (modeled after) 上发展而来的，当然

The Q-5 was nice, but the Q-6
would’ve been even nicer and the JH-7
(FBC) would’ve been better still…

The J-7III sacrifice the primary virtue of the basic J-7, its agility in order to provide slightly better avionics, but it couldnt compete with the J-8 and is quite probably inferior to the J-7G.

It was said (or claimed) that the later versions was designed specifically
to compete with or handle Taiwan’s F-16s. Also claimed is that the one’s just
purchased by Bangeldash was sufficient enough to tackle Mirage replicas.

When someone says stuff like I FIGHT MY OWN FIGHTS…….it makes people wonder. A supposed citizen from a democratic country FIGHTING (at least that is the way this certain someone puts it) for commie dictators. Lol.

To me that says it all.

I have no hard feelings towards the oppressed citizens living inside or outside these dictatorships. It is the fact that such regimes still exist in todays modern world where progress in human resources is as important as material progress. I believe one should not get emotional when dealing with facts that are unfortunately very much true.

I am unaware of having made any reference to Americans in any of my posts. What Americans do is their business. The worlds largest democracy and the worlds most powerful democracy can live side by side and tolerate each other for such is the nature of democracy….it breeds tolerance. AND this is deviating from the subject, what have the Americans got to do with mentally conditioned pilots from commie dictatorships.

The truth my friend is sometimes bitter. As I have mentioned many times in my posts, forcing people to confirm and live according to the way chosen for them by their masters produces brainwashed people. Unfortunately, brainwashed people make brainwashed combat pilots, which in turn makes them cannon fodder similar to brainwashed foot soldiers.
