Morocco Receives Four F-16C Block 52
Morocco is the latest U.S. partner nation to receive the F-16 Fighting Falcon, a historic event marked by a ceremony here August 4.
The new Block 52 aircraft will supplement the Royal Moroccan Air Force’s existing fleet of fighter aircraft and will contribute to the upgrade and modernization of the country’s military.

Ghana orders two Airbus Military C295 aircraft
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Ghana has signed a contract with Airbus Military for the acquisition of two C295 aircraft.
The aircraft are to be delivered from the beginning of 2012. His Excellency Minister of Defence Lt Gen. JH Smith, said the C295 will enable the Air Force to move troops and other security agencies across the country and within the West African sub-region. The aircraft will also be used for medical evacuation, paratrooping, training and humanitarian operations including assistance to organizations such as National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the peace mission of the United Nations. The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Ghana is a new Airbus Military customer.

Mauritanian Air Force Tucano crashes; pilot killed
A Mauritanian Air Force trainer aircraft has crashed, killing the pilot whilst he was taking off on a training mission.
A Mauritanian military pilot died 21 August 2011 Sunday when his plane crashed during a training exercise near Chinguetti, the defence ministry announced. The engine of the plane caught fire during takeoff, Pana reported. The aircraft belonged to the Ecole Militaire Inter Armes (EMIA) in Atar.

British Royal Air Force “Red Arrows” plane crashes, pilot dies
A plane in the British Royal Air Force’s “Red Arrows” aerobatic team crashed on Saturday, killing the pilot, after a performance at an air festival on the southern coast of England, authorities said.
The plane of Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging, 33, crashed near an airport some 100 miles from London after performing at the Bournemouth Air Festival, local officials and the Ministry of Defense said in separate statements.
Egging, known as “Eggman” according to Captain Simon Blake, Commandant of the RAF’s Central Flying School, joined the team last year. Before joining the Red Arrows, Egging flew operational missions to support coalition ground forces in Afghanistan.
MiG denies stealth technology transfer to China for J-20 fighter

Russia has never transferred any stealth technology to China to assist it with its J-20 Black Eagle fifth-generation stealth fighter prototype, Russian plane maker MiG said on Friday.
“We are not delivering any equipment to China, and never have,” MiG spokeswoman Yelena Fyodorova said.
MiG’s statement follows claims in the Russian and foreign press last week that China’s J-20, unveiled over six months ago, is based on technology and components from the Russian Mikoyan Article 1.44, a stealth technology demonstrator aircraft, development of which was suspended.
