Another problem in the Airbus FBW system? Previous accidents with the a320-100 proved this, but I would expect that these errors should be corrected by now.
The a340-300 is underpowered. Who says that? Why is it believed if the aircraft can achieve a normal cruising speed?
there are a few possibilities here, however some of them can be ruled out?
Control surface failure (no EICAS warning?)
FBW error (For example the LH aA20-100 that burnt out in Warsaw after the aircraft touched down so softly that the computers didn’t consider itto be landing, which delayed thrust reverse and spoiler deployment by about 7-8 seconds I believe. The aircraft overran the runway and burned out)
Pilot error (which I seriously doubt)
Does someone have an idea of other possibilities?
When did it happen?
Nice models. If only I could buy a Sabena model, but I won’t because they put the Belgian flag the wrong way on it!
It’s probably correctly on the other side, but what airline would put it’s own flag the wrong way on it’s aircraft. 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡
Check what http://www.jetonly.com has to offer. Do you want to fly to Puerto Plata (charter airlines) or Santo Domingo (scheduled and charter)?
Really looks like a fat airplane:)
are the nose wheels in the nose or still on the airframe, but “kneeled”? How does the process work to let the aircraft kneel?
Am I right if Torness is a small village next to Loch Ness?
I can’t see any of the pictures!
Yep, looks good indeed, but looks don’t mean everything. Or maybe it does ->http://www.airliners.net/open.file/545185/L/ The picture is taken from the ending towards the beginning. The right side (in the picture) has this unique form to avoid changement to the ILS signals on 25L.
Probably more airlines would have turned options into orders for Concorde.
IF there would have been no Swissair, Sabena would have become a successful company. Now that they were finally getting a bit profitable, Swissair kane interrupting them. Argh!
De veranderingen in het station beginnen duidelijk zichtbaar te worden, bedoel ik dan om te zien hoe het zal worden. Ik weet niet echt wanneer het klaar zal zijn, maar ik denk in 2006-7. Het ziet er echt goed uit.

The bar was just too weak, you have no idea how much tonnes such a bar has to bare. It probably just bended by pushing tha aircraft extremely hard. If this bar get’s bended for even 10°, it bends immediately further.

The problem with BA-Iberia-Swiss is that Switzerland is not in the EU. That would pose a problem. Also, what benefit does Iberia offer BA.? Iberia does not offer a central base for good connections in the EU like KLM did. SN-Brussels and its Brussels base offers endless possibilities, though.Think about it. Brussels is a full-fare market because of the EU and NATO. The airport is a good one, centrally based in the middle of Western Europe, and under used. It also just underwent a large expansion with the opening of the new wing. The only problem would be night operations. Although that does not seem to be a problem for cargo carriers, and BRU is a major player in the cargo market.
I just don’t understand the logic of not offering a strong hub in Brussels. Sabena couldn’t do it, because, unfortunately, it was not well run, and Swissair screwed up. Again, BRU is centrally located, a very good facility, lots of full fare potential, and a reasonably sized population base for tourists traveling from BRU to other destinations, especially to warmer destinations. An American carrier would setup a hub there is a second if it could.
American Airlines should expand at Brussels. Their codeshare with SN proves to be very succesful, but not a lot of flights have codeshare yet. AA only flies daily to Chicago, thats all.
Brussels is the most modern airport of Europe. Fuel comes out of the ground, there’s a pipeline that connects every gate. That’s only an example. There are so much facilities at Brussels. It’s a unique airport, a very good infrastructure. Beautiful pier, the A-pier is so impressive. Brussels is very fascinating, however there is nearly never told about the extreme handy and modern facilities. since Brussels is only running at half it’s capacity, there should be plenty of room for some new connections.Good to see an American that is so occupied with Belgium:).
Got it, It is used asa fast taxiway for late airplanes to hop to the front of the queue (if the far holding point is in use). The runway indeed doesn’t have ILS, and has names 26R and 8L.
It is the busiest single-runway airport in the world, handling over 31 million passengers annually, flying to around 200 destinations. Charter airlines are generally not allowed to operate from Heathrow
Click the link for more information. and many use Gatwick instead as their base.
Recent proposals to build a second runway at Gatwick have led to strenuous protests because of the increased noise and pollution that this would entail, not to mention the demolition of dozens of houses. In addition an agreement with the local council has promised not to build a second runway until at least 2019.
I’ll keep looking for more information about the yes-or-no second runway.
Is it indeed less wide? It doesn’t have ILS I believe?
