Yes. A 747-400 with 5% fuel and not too heavy load kan approach at 135 knots.
The concorde has V1 at 180 and VR at 200 knots. It all depends on the weight of course, but a fully loaded Boeing 747-400 has VR around 155 knots.
I think concorde lands at a speed of 150-160 knots. Maybe even 145. Yes, that means Concorde is aerodynamically very special, because the stall speed of a 747-400 with flaps up at low load is around 160 knots.
The approach speed of Concorde is closer to the stall speed, however, so pilots have to approach with a safe (thus higher) approach speed just in case the headwind suddenly stops or is constantly changing. That last safety measure is actually always done.
Another cockpit guess!
Whow! Look at the rudder! So much power to push it to the side! If the aircraft is heading up, the rudder is applied nearly fully to the left!
One minute without control isn’t too bad! All planes can monitor traffic for a minute themselves! They propably told every aircraft to maintain altitude and heading.
Are the canards used to push/pull the nose down?
Matthew, a longhaul aircraft landing with MTOW would give trouble. I suppose you mean MLW?

I think it’s water sucked from the tarmac, but it looks dry in the background :s.
That engine is running at full power! Look at the turbulence inside the engine! 😮
You need two sleeping pilots to not notice that the aircraft is descending rapidly if it should be ascending! What’s a ditch maneuvre? Isn’t that pulling one wing to the water so that touches first? otherwise you’ll lose the engines! Can’t wait to know the cause of this crash!

Wonderful, I can just make out the Qantas tail in the right of the picture, presumably a 707?
No, it looks like it has a T-tail?
Sorry for posting them in such a stupid order.
Took this one out of a huge pic (2304 pixels wide). It’s not an official picture size.
OO-MSN was doing Touch & Go’s.
This one was taken with bad weather conditions on February the 25th. It was raining as well and the lens was dirty by wiping it with my finger.

Traffic is stopped for two engined traffic, landing or take off. I don’t think you want to be here if a C130, IL18 or jet with low engines takes off! The engines of a F50 are not strong enough, but once a IL 18 was here (didn’t saw it with own eyes), and you couldn’t keep standing!
Why do I always forget the picture?
To LCY. New colorscheme, couldn’t get it from the side because the batteries ran out and quickly had to change them, very frustrated, and only got it done when it was lined up already .
The picture of course:rolleyes:
