Antwerp has a 1480 meter runway. I often see a VLM F50 taking of from there to LCY (probably just 1/5th of fuel), and it only uses half of the runway (It’s min requirement is a bit less then 1000 meters). Yep, Nothing beats the vibration of the f50.

No! I found this a very nice paint scheme! Anyway, I hope the’ll never change the AA colors. This airline is legendary, just like UA.

NONONO It’s obvious that this engine is a low-by pass engine.
It seems like it hang on the wing, So I would say Classic 732. I can’t say the airline, maybe the Ryanair logojet. Otherwise It’s a BAC 1-11 or a 727.

The Fokker F50 gives an impressive take off sound. It first accelerates to full power, you hear the sound increasing and then suddenly It starts sounding like an incredible loud horn or so. Do you agree Kabir?
The 777 has very powerful engines, but that doesn’t reallymean It can take off faster than an A330.

Belgium has taken leadership in the help. That was decided in Milan today. This means, before a group wwant to bring someone somewhere, it must be announced to some belgian.
I believe there are now two c-130s there, one A310 has already returned with a belgian couple, the woman was severely injured.
How are the current deaths estimated?

Yesterday thei said on the news that the BAF already lost about 35 F16’s in their 30 years of service

Reden van F-16-ongeluk is nog steeds raadsel
di 09/12/03 – In de buurt van Marche-en-Famenne zijn twee Belgische F16-toestellen van de luchtmacht neergestort. Eén van de piloten kwam daarbij om het leven.

De precieze reden voor het ongeluk met twee F-16’s is nog niet bekend. Het leger heeft om 18 uur een persconferentie gegeven.

Eén van de twee piloten van de neergestorte F-16’s is om het leven gekomen. Hij slaagde er niet in om zijn schietstoel te activeren en werd dood teruggevonden in zijn cockpit. De andere piloot is gezond maar verkeert wel in shock.

De F-16’s zouden met elkaar in botsing zijn gekomen op lage hoogte, waarop getuigen een grote vuurbal waarnamen. De wrakken zijn teruggevonden dichtbij het gehucht La Foulerie in Havelange.

De F-16’s waren opgestegen vanop de luchtmachtbasis van Kleine Brogel. Ze hielden een “Forward Air Controler”, waarbij de luchtverkeersleiding de piloten naar hun doel leidt.

Minister van Defensie André Flahaut (PS) en generaal August Van Daele, de stafchef van het Belgisch leger, hebben hun oprechte medeleven betuigd met de familie van de omgekomen piloot. De minister en de generaal bevinden zich op dit moment op missie in Afrika. Ook premier Guy Verhofstadt (VLD) heeft zijn medeleven betuigd namens de regering.

The precise reason for the accident witg two f16s is not known yet. The army held a press conerence at 6 pm.

One of the two pilots of the crashed f16s was killed. He failed to activate his ejection seat and was found dad in his cockpit (at meast he is still whole). The other pilot is healthy but is in shock.

The F16 should have collided at a low altitude, where eyewhitnesses saw a big fireball. The wreckages were found close to La Fouliere in Havelange.

The f16 lifted off from the airbase Kleine Brogel.. They Held a “Forward Air Controller”, when the atc brings the pilots to
their target.

They have F16 fighter jets, a few C130’s and one A310. The A310 is also often used for the government. We also have an Embraer Legacy jet for the royals.

Twee F-16 jachtvliegtuigen van de Belgische luchtmacht zijn dinsdag in de buurt van Marche-en-Famenne neergestort tijdens een oefening. Een piloot heeft zijn schietstoel kunnen gebruiken. De andere piloot slaagde er niet in zijn schietstoel in werking te stellen en werd dood teruggevonden in zijn cockpit.
Het wrak van een van de toestellen is teruggevonden nabij het gehucht La Foulerie in Havelange, aldus de politie. Die is nog op zoek naar het tweede toestel.
De twee F-16’s waren opgestegen vanop de luchtmachtbasis van Kleine Brogel in Limburg en hielden een “Forward Air Controler”-oefening (FAC), een techniek waarbij de luchtverkeersleiding piloten naar hun doelwit leidt.
Naar verluidt zijn de toestellen in volle vlucht tegen elkaar gebotst.

routes

they propably ordered the 345 for very long range (otherwise they could have used 777’s). Maybe they can fly to LA (is there any traffic on this route, does it have the range) or maybe Sydney?

Yeah, i cant remember very good, but i think it was something like this:
the landing gear indicated that the nose gear wasnt extended (no green light) and the flighjt engineer and pilots where changing the lamp. this took so lang that the autopilot somehow was turned into a slightly negative descent?
strange, houw couldnt you notice that you are 200 feet above the ground? :confused: :confused:

Yes, stupid pilots, how can you forget to turn on deicing? wherent there any warnings on that plane? i ever read a book about it but i vant remember much about this.
