Yes it’s been since the 777 when they designed something original. The 7e7 is a modied 767, in theory it’s a whole new aircraft. I think 7(number)7 would be more reocognisable.
But they already filled up all the gaps, 717-737-757-767-777-747. Maybe they could design something between the 737-900 and the 757-200?
Airbus also didnt design something “new”, What are they actually working on at the moment except the a380? maybe an a340-400?
i heard they cancelled their 317-316 program. it woudl be too small. Airbus should design something like the 757-300, so an a322 maybe?

Personally I don’t think that it is any worse a situation for BA than expansion at Dublin or Madrid, and I think SWISS would make a quality addition to Oneworld providing they can get a bit of a cash boost.
Because of that Lufthansa might also get it I suppose, although neither airline has a lot of cash to spend.
Personally I think they will end up in Onworld, as they are basically in the alliance anyway! However I thought this for LOT too, and look where they ended up…!

Smart BA! I wouldn’t fly swiss, not even for free. I wouldnt ly it because it came from Swissair, and swissair made sabena go bankrupt. If I would speak better english, i would explain why. I read three books about it, and sabena had a lot of commitments (dictionnary says that its noit the good word i guess) by swissair. The made them buy 34 airbusses when the personnell wanted to add some ng 737’s to the 737 ng fleet. That would have saved sabena for many years.

    LHR-SYD

Does this mean that it will be possible to operate a nonstop flight from LHR to SYD? It’s about time!
Does someone has more information about the 777-200 LR, the range charts of boeing say it cal also fly nonstop from LHR to SYD.

    thrust reversers on these aircraft

Oh and talking about unsafe, i ever saw a picture of an Il 62 when the thrust reversers were deployed five seconds before touchdown. Is this normal for this aircraft? I thought you could not deploy the reversers unless you are on the ground and travelling at a speed great enough to do so safely.

    finally

it’s time the eastern airlines should see that it is totally wrong to operate russian airplanes. I once flew on a Yakovlev, and i was fearing for my life! Look at the cockpits, they dont seem to understand we reached an age where FMC’s and LCD screens are IN.
Even the russian manufacturers are designing new aircraft, theres almost no future for it, maybe airforces would order it eventually. They are designing regional jets, pff no way! The answer to RJ’s: Avro, Embraer, Canadair, Bombardier.

Hi, good condor is selling some 753’s. Who’s gonna take them? I Guess Transavia, which already leased two or three this summer, and propably Thomas cook as well?

    yuck!

What an ugly thing. I think the market doesnt need two choices for such a big airliner, there is already such a low demand for the a380.
I even dont believe airbus can earn it expenses with the a380 back by selling them. How many orders are placed by now? something like 150?
How much were the orders for the 744 in 1988? It propably was more than the a380 has now. Nope, nothing ahs more demand than the boeing 7e7, in 60-70 years we well be out of oil and the 7e7 is one way to slow it down. Air travel is propably one of the biggest oil users, isnt ot? does someone has a graph or something about it?
