Thats a shame would love to see the MD-83 in operation again. When i started with Airtours thats the only a/c we had. Many a fond memory there.
Ta for that mate.So this year Planet Air are going to be more of a tour operator than an airline. Are they planning on starting up a proper operation next year ? Im i wrong or did i read somewhere they were going to use a MD-80 varient ?
Thanks Thomas guess my imformation was wrong. And welcome to the forum.
That seems a bit harsh. At the end of the day it was only a bit of fun, thats if you beleive their tale about spilling some coffee ? What harm was done ?
Me too.Just hope it does some good ?
Are all the fleet ex Ansett ? I know the first two came from there.
KabirT u put it could do it direct.Or were you being sarcastic ?
No way Concorde can do LHR-SYD direct.Im sure it cant.Do you all remember when Qantas got their first B747-400 they ripped all the seats out and everything else that was not needed and flew it direct from LHR-SYD and it only just made it.Ill go with EGNM on this one,it would need to stop at least once if not a second time.Correct me if im wrong guys.
Right fonud a DC-10 database so here goes:
G-TDTW=Western,Delta,Scanair,American,Scanair,Sun Country and Premiair.
G-BYDA=Singapore,Wardair,Canadian,Minerve,Aom,Taesa,
Dominicana De Aviacion,Taesa and Premiair.
G-DPSP=Western,Delta,Scanair and Premiair.
G-TAOS=Western,Delta,Scanair,Premiair,Skyservice USA and Premiair.
So it looks like they were the aircraft you worked on.Good to see they are all safe and well !
Regards Lyndon.
Not too sure on that one.Airtours got the DC-10’s off premier.Where they were before that im not sure but theres a good chance they were at SAS before that.I do know that the DC-30 has had many homes including Singapore Airlines.Ill ask around and see if anyone at work knows any more ?
Dont know much about them i afraid ? However i can tell you they operate:B737-700,A320-200 and some kind of a BAe146.Sorry for the lack of info but have a great trip.
Regards,
Lyndon.
Yeah she was built to company spec.It was a real shame when she got smashed up down in POP.She was only 4 months old and the damage came to over £7 million. It was touch and go weather the Boeing engineers were going to write her off or not.Glad they didnt its a good machine.
oops forgot about her.G-WJAN will also remain in the fleet with the rats.
Hi Preston. At the moment the plans for the 757’s are to keep the desert rats for now but G-CCMY is going at the end of the year.Probably to be replaced with a 321 ? As for the DC-10’s not too sure at the moment. The plan before the cash problem was to keep them up to the end of 2005.But as we own them all they are cheap to operate as no leasing fee.Even though they drink far too much.As for the rest of the fleet i dont think there are any plans for change apart from the 320/321 rollover that is going on at the moment.Hope this helps.
Regards
Lyndon.
Comet how funny.Last year i remember you saying that you wanted them to go bust ! Different now it involves you.
