I think it is a private callsign. As in the last three letters of the registration.Airlines and cargo operators normally use a word such as Speedbird or Tourjet.

5.Air Niugini ?
They are found normally on aircraft with overwing exits. The hooks are used to connect an assist rope to so the passengers can slide down the flaps using to rope.Saves everyone ending up in a heap on the floor. Also they can be used for the fire service or crew to re-enter the aircraft.
Most of the pics posted on here are from Airliners.net.Also hi and good to have you with us.
Why though ? Was it costing too much to keep open ?
Dont want to spoil your trip but i flew with Thai last year and they were garbage.Whilst the seat pitch as said above is very good the rest of the service was very poor on both o/b and i/b sectors. On the way out we departed around 13.00Z from Heathrow to Bangkock. We were served a meal which was ok and then a drink. No problem there. After that we were told that all window blinds had to be shut as people needed to sleep ??? Sorry but at around 16.00z none of the passengers were ready to sleep at this time.To me it seemed that the crew were on minimum rest on their layover and tired so they just wanted a peaceful cabin and get off to the crew bunks.Fair enough on a night flight but not in the middle of the afternoon. And to top all that off only one film was shown on a 12 hour flight.Might be diffrent now but it it was a hell of a long day for me and the mrs.Theres a lot more but i dont want to babble on.

Dont know about this flight but MyTravel have a contract with the MOD and have been taking troops out to kuwait for the last 3 weeks using the DC10-10 and A 330.Mabye they have now started bringing them back ? Ill try find out.
Dont know the ins and outs but it was a MyTravel Lite A320.
The £15 is not an extra cost. That would be the standard price of the holiday. If you want it £15 cheaper then you dont have a meal and take your own.Its just a way of saving the customer money if they dont want to eat airline food.
We are having a lot of problems with this at the moment. If you book a flight only you will not get a meal,if you book it in a travel agency they should give you the option of having a meal or not.If you choose not to have a meal then £15 per person will be discounted from your holiday. The problem is though travel agents are not giving the customers the option to try make the holiday look cheaper. This is causing a lot of problems when people got on and they dont know that they are not getting a meal because its not been paid for.If i was you i would check with who you booked it through. However you can buy a meal on the aircraft if you want.Hope this helps.
That is class. Thanks for that one !
EGNM sorry to say it was a Aer Lingus B7370-500 parked next to us in full lingus colours but it did have have that red . com under the front right door.Sorry i hate it too.
Too Right !!!! If you want to get out pay attention
No question about that wysiwyg. But the funny thing is that very few pax pay attention to the demo because they all think they know what to do should it happen.Yet when the real thing happens and im speaking from experience here you could hear a pin drop in the cabin and what you say goes. The pax look to you as their guardian angel. Its amazing how circumstances change peoples views.
Till today i would have to agree with the photshop idea. But im afraid we parked next to a Lingus one down in ALC today and it had that horrid red spot them . com next to it just below one door right. It is real im afraid.
