RE: What’s the score at MyTravel?

Where do i start ? Right the reason why the shares have crashed is due to some accounting problems and also that the estimated profits have fallen a long way short.Dont know the full ins and out. However 2 days ago the cheif ex was forced to resign but still got a pay off of 1 million ? Thats seems really fair after he has trashed the company ? Anyway to save boring you all David Crossland has taken over again and come out of retirement to try save the company he started as 1 travel agency over 30 years ago.As far as i know the company is not in trouble but the lack of confidence in the city is dragging the share price down. However at present First Choice and 2 unamed u.s companys are looking to buy us ? On the plus side the company has over 250 million spare in the bank and they have already sold 81% of next summers holidays.Lets see what happens ??

A B757-200 would glide around 120nm if it was at 37’000 ft and lost both engines.

    RE: Flightdeck PA’s

As you know im only on the other side of the door but over the years these are the things that the pax want to know:

    Departure:
1.Which runway heading we take off on.
    2.Where we are departing over.
3.Why turns after straight after take off ? E.G departing from MAN on 24R to avoid sound restrictions over Knutsford.

    Cruise:
    1.Ground speed.
    2.Height.
3.Where we are (Including any visible citys/landmarks)
    4.Routing.

    Top of drop:
    1.Weather at destination.
    2.Local time at destination.
3.Again anything of interest to look out for on the approach.

Hope this helps. If i hear any good P.A’S ill let you know.

    Regards

    Lyndon.

    RE: Airbus A320

I know what your saying but what if you had a left handed first officer ? I think its just a case of you train on a/c type and adapt to it. Then when you swap seats you have to do the same again.

    RE: Time to divert !!!

Right not seen any of the Airbus lads to ask but i was chatting to one of the Boeing guys and he said from FL370 the B757-200 would glide around 120nm.So that does seem to be a bit more realistic than the Airbus figures i got told.

    RE: Airbus A320

As far as i know in all fixed wing commercial operations the Capt sits in left seat and thats no exception on the A320.What exactly did you mean “Because of the side stick ?”

Spoke to a Captain at work and he said the best possible glide ratio for the A330-200 is 24nm for every 1000ft u desend.Thats a long way if your up at 41,000ft.

    RE: Rude Security Scanning !!!!!

After Sept 11th you can understand them going over the top. However what i dont get is in the U.K any person checks a bag in and then dont turn up at the gate the aircraft wont depart till that persons bag has been found and taken off.Dont know about other US carriers but i recently flew with AA and 4 passengers did not turn up.The Capt decided to go with the bags and not the passengers ? To me that makes no sense at all ? At most airports not all bags are screened so he had no idea what might have been in them ???? As im writing this it turned out o.k but you never know.

    Regards,

    Lyndon.
