Great stuff. The Hurricane was only repainted recently, I believe.
I would love to see the video clip that was shot last year for the flypast. Genuinely some of the nicest aerial footage I’ve ever seen shot!
She should be flying again very soon and ready for Normandy. The pilot is ok and Thank you again for your kind comments. BHHH team. 🙂
All the credit for the film should go to Arena Aviation who very kindly supported us with our Remembrance Day flypast.
The footage is some of the best we have seen in recent years and we hope to work with Arena again in the future. To see the formation over the Kent countryside and Biggin Hill was incredible to watch on the day and the film really shows this.
With the continued support of the Airport management we hope this will continue on remembrance Sunday each year at Biggin Hill and I’m sure you’ll agree it makes a fitting tribute to the fallen.
Many thanks,
BHHH
A really great write up Elliott! Many thanks from all at BHHH. 🙂

Hi,
I am researching the “beer runs” performed post D-day where barrels of beer were loaded onto aircraft (e.g fitted to the wings of Spitfires) and sent across the channel.
I am looking for help sourcing images and also first hand accounts. I have an account from Pierre Closterman’s – Big Show, but am looking for any other or any more information.
Hoping you can help.
Best Regards
Mark

Spitfire, possibly a Mk1 flying leisurely over Bracknell/Wokingham at 3.45pm, Saturday 4th May. Any idea which one?
Hangar 11 Spitfire over flew Biggin Hill today around 1600.
He she is in the old blast pens at Biggin Hill earlier this year:
Here is a shot of AE977 in the old blast pens at Biggin Hill last Sunday morning.
🙂
AE977 is now permantly based and owned by us at the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar! Look out for her at various events and airshows this year. 🙂
Also, anyone know the last Hurricane to be based at Biggin Hill? Maybe BBMF LF363?
Good afternoon,
We are still at the very early stages of planning for our event on the 17th of August this year. It will be along the lines of the concert that was staged at Chartwell a few years back with our aircraft and possibly the BBMF taking part. The concert is a partnership between Biggin Hill Airport Ltd and us with Synergy Events being the organiser on our behalf.
We will hopefully produce a press release soon, after a few more meetings and discussions etc.
Lets hope for good weather.
Many thanks,
BHHH Ltd:)
