57/58 were my 2 favourite years at Farnborough, the 22 Hunters were spectacular, the Vulcan climbing vertically and rolling off the top and the P1B warming a young boy’s heart, btw it was the Accountant, what an ugly Aircraft!!!!
got my copy of the Accident report
fairly condemning of the Pilot, cleared for a consumption test at 10,000 ft, he flew low over his girlfriends house and hit a tree
it wasn’t so much a Car factory more about storing his vast collections
not that I saw but quite possibly
thanks Guys
seemed like everytime I went there it was being worked on
so sad it had an untimely demise with loss of life
thanks
gradually it’s all coming together
at some stage I will get up there to have a look
interesting Ross,
the family has it that he was showing off to his girlfriend
might be some truth in that
thank you Brian,
have applied for the F1180
as I’m close to the NA I’ll do a visit
well spotted
could well be Mambas , they don’t look at all like the Dart installations I remember
they had a spectator enclosure there at one stage in the 50s
the first enclosure I can remember was on the North side and having to cross a taxiway to get to it, must have been 49/50
I remember seeing it at Wisley looking forlorn 56/57
I can go back to my first CAM in 1955, I can’t remember how much before this it started
wouldn’t surprise me if Hannants because of their size and ordering in bulk got Them a much better deal
Hi All,
Does he have fixed wing qualification then ? I thought he was only a Co-Pilot on rotary aircraft and would still need training like all other trainees. :confused:Geoff.
yes he did his flight training before he moved onto helicopters
