Do you guys have any requests for pictures? I know its not like being here..but if there is any particular airline or aircraft you want pictures of just let me know. Want a picture of a 767 main gear leg for instance?? Can be done!

I’ll try to post more, been lazy lately.

Main terminal with BWIA 737, KLM 747, AF A340, Air Canada 767 and Delta 757…US Airways 757 outside the picture. Just a normal day on the ramp.

We fly in the Netherlands Antilles. We have one stationed in St. Maarten (the one pictured) and one in Curacao. The picture is taken on Saba helipad.

uhm…that wouldn’t be angle of attack…just a steep climb angle.
    Nitpicking…I know!!!

    Impressive all the same!!

I think it is pretty amazing to see the differences between the A340-300 and the 757s taking off from down here…the Boeings really climbs fast compared to the bus.

They hand out Leis at the airport now?? When I flew there a couple of years ago we had to specially order them through the travel agent…we could be met by girls with these flowers for an extra 20 dollars or something…
20 dollars is alot of beers….so no flowers for us…oh well!!

Hawaii is a GREAT place….have fun!! Are you staying in Oahu or moving on to other islands??

I would say some of the best must be from the original Memphis Bell movie.
Also I think it is Twelve o’clock high where they belly land a B17 for real…its a shame, but still a good scene.

One scene that always annoys me is from “We were soldiers”…when the F-100s turn in to attack. They put in some bank angle, and then seem to just slide sidewards…it just looks so bad.

And that heli movie with Nick Cage….god what a piece of s**t that was..some good flying scenes…where else can you see a Draken in action??

    Chuck Yeager

In my last job part of my duties was to do recurrency training with FAA inspectors.
One of them was from the office where Mr. Yeager has his paperwork.
This guy said that Yeager was such an ass that no one wanted to be around him. Since he was “the first through the sound barrier” he expected to be treated like a god…and always had an opinion about everything when it came to airshows.
It ended up with Chuck only being allowed to fly straight and level passes at airshows.

    Oh well.

BTW..is there any truth to the story that when the F-86 was tested while the X-1 was trying to break the soundbarrier, the test pilot was told to not enter a dive with full power…and when he still did so broke the barrier before the X-1 did?? Of course not spoken of, and X-1 got the glory.

not trying to start abuse here or anything…just honestly curious!!
Why is it that french speaking and writing people write and talk backwards at times?
Here the Memphis Bell is the Bell Memphis…I had a french student that consistently called the stage check a Check Stage!!

Just wondering…as my knowledge of the french language is ZIP…

    Interesting pictures though….more please!!

I have a video of a reporter talking about the Spitfire and its legacy, as an intro to something it seems. He is then overflown by a spit at VERY low altitude from the rear…he ducks and starts yelling expletive while the camera-man laughs.
Its priceless…anyone know how I can post a video..or has it already been seen by you guys

    DB:
That BT-13 unfortunately only consisted of a cockpit section, could probably fly once given enough speed!!

    AFH10:
I will be more than happy to admit that the helicopter model I fly now is a toy, a useful one at that…but still a toy!! Maybe one day I’ll fly a real one!!
