VLM Fokker 50’s have a Row 13 (and it’s the last row too!)

Be careful what music you listen to whilst on the plane – you may be arrested!

Passenger thrown off plane for choice of music

A British man has been expelled from a plane and interrogated under the Terrorism Act after a taxi driver’s suspicion was aroused by his choice of music.
Harraj Mann, who was able to play his own music on the taxi ride to the airport, was slightly bemused by the whole affair.

Mann had played Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song, which contained the lyrics “The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands” and The Clash’s London Calling, which had the lyrics “War is declared, and battle come down”.

“I was laughing about it, but all my mates are absolutely furious. It’s just left me bemused. I can agree that there’s a culture of fear. They acted on the information they had. I’m just frustrated that it happened to me. It’s a mystery,” Mann said.

And ther’s me last week listening to Iron Maiden’s “Bring your daughter to the Slaughter” from London to Manchester 😀

Work is keeping me away from the aviation scene at the moment! Currently typing this from the press tent at Crufts !!!! It’s too busy.

Might pop over to the airport this evening too see what I can see !!!

Brilliant shots as ever mate, you don’t seem to have been on much since the MAN meet.

Unfortunatley the downfalls of photographing seals, dolphins and whales of the coasts of Scotland has to take precedence, as I get paid for that and i’ve dropped the IT work completley now 🙂

    Fantastic shots there Tom.

One thing to get used to on DSLR is dust on the sensor !!!!

I think there’s a tiny speck on yours at the moment! It’s in the same position on all of the shots.

On the A330 shot it’s directly above the nearest engine cowling.

A very easy way to see where the spots are:-

open the image in Photoshop or PSP. change the LEVELS, make sure preview is turned on to see the realtime changes. Drag the LEFT slider to the right, as the image darkens, you’ll see Mr Dust.

One of the downfalls of DSLR’s :-(. I must have cleaned mine 3 times in the past month!

    Great shots 😀

That Balkan for some reason always seem sto remind me of the spacecraft they made up for the numerous Gerry Anderson Puppet/Sci-fi programs of the 60’s and 70’s 😉

There’s some real demo coverage of the game in Bill Gate’s Keynote speech at the opening of this years CES in the US

The webcast can be viewed here:-

The FS video is at around 29 minutes in !!!

Looks good, but to quote “We have about another year of programming to get it right” so we may have a bit of a wait on out hands!

Cheers for the comments guys…my personal favourite is the head on A330!

Due to the way the 24L rises at the end, I can’t actually see what’s thundering down the tarmac untill it’s actually airbourne !. I was stood on-top of the wooden fence around the lighting stand (seen in a picture) with my back resting on the lighting cross bar!!!.

As for my equimpent, I’m currently running 2 x Canon EOS 20D’s one with a Sigma 18-200DC lens (all these shots where taken with this) and the other usually has a Canon 100-400L IS Lens 🙂

ISO was set at 400 as it was quite dark, +1/3 stop exposure and all shot at Large JPG as I forgot my memory cards and only had a 512Mb.

Oh and it’s one hell of a hike to get to the threshold of 06R 😮 , even with a car to get you half way there!

Here’s the EXIF data for the QATAR shot if you want to see the settings!
