    The only ither thing ATC said was “Clear for Takeoff”. Just spooke dme hearing the works ‘Flying Saucer’ over the airwaves when your not really concentrating 😮

    I use a GRE-282 Scanner, got it for £40 off Ebay with Car Aerial and a Outdoor Di-pole Aerial + Cable – Bargain!!!! :p

    did you get a picture of the thompsonfly 767-300 landing at about 1435 by any chance?. as i was on it

    Just had a look and I don’t sorry!, the last picture I took at the AVP was at 14:27pm, then the next was at 15:08 from the southside. You must have landed just As I was travelling through the tunnels 🙁

    I actually heard this on the scanner about this aircraft:-
    ATC: “KLM1084 is that a flying Saucer?”
    KLM: “What!, can you repeat that message!”
    ATC: “Sorry, is that a flysing saucer on your aircraft”
    KLM: “No, it’s a credit card”
    ATC: “Oh..”

    That’s not that much closer than a few select spots down at the southside of 06R/24L at Manchester 😀

    But we do have a higher fence!!!

    I’ve a 9 year old EOS 500 which has always given great service. It’s got a 28-80 mm and a 75-300 mm.

    First the no-brainer – I guess I need to upgrade to a 350D?

    Second, do I buy just a body, or get a lens as well, and if so which? My 75-300 will become a 120-480, and the other a 45-128, so I’ll be lacking a wide-angle, which I don’t use often, but might miss.

    Will I get the same f-stop values as now, despite the focal length increase – O-level Physics is too long ago!

    Yes the f/stops are the same!!!

    Well its taken enough time…. (I infer you work at LHR?) you probably got used to passing a dismantled Trident on the way into work and now its vanished 😀

    It nearly caused me to crash my car when enteirng the AVP the day after it arrived!!! Just casually driving along the tree-lined road, a sharp right into the AVP and WHAM..WHOA its’ here 😀

    You can’t decapitate a head ! You CAN decapitate a body though…. 😮
