Made my visit on the Tuesday and looked like I chose the best weather of the week, maybe not the most action though.
This is the first time I’ve ever captured moisture corkscrewing off a prop before.
Glad I made a dash from inside the AAM to take a few shots of the Buchon in the sunshine.

I guess I won’t get the chance this sunday to see this kind of thing what with the weather forecast.
Hope we are pleasantly surprised!

Looks like the old event that used to be held at Rougham, very similar.
Shame about the pricing though.
What was the arrangement for Friends of Duxford with entrance fees?

Will be sad to see it leave Duxford, but at least we will be seeing some newly restored classics in the near future.
What will TFC be working on next I wonder? Would be nice to see the Hellcat fully airworthy again.Martin
Well apart from ARC with the magnificent Blenheim rebuild, it would be nice to see that Firefly restored to flight. Could that be done I wonder? It would be fantastic to see that Hellcat back in the air as well. Isn’t there another Griffon engined Spitfire waiting to be assembled?

Oh man, now that’s an airshow I would have loved to see. I guess one could have camped the night there?
Martin
I’ll be there. I hadn’t stumbled across your thread I would have never known! Look forward to it & looks to be a fine day. Would be fantastic to see the Catalina alighting the water, but I doubt it. When was the last time she floated on UK waters I wonder?

Very nice set of pics! Any idea what the filming was for? I saw Charlie Brown being directed whilst sitting in the OFMC Mk.V and a few guys lugging digital movie cameras around.

Superb photos! Did you manage to capture the Mirage F.1s?
I do like that shot of the Typhoon tail fins, all the different squadrons. Reminiscent of old tail shots of Lightings.

Superb collection of pics. Wish I could have gone!

very nice collection of photos……
I would be interested what members do with their photo collections once edited. I have often had various shows copied onto cards and put onto gallery frames at home. I am slowly compiling an aviation index of all my old wet photos onto digital format etc. please share your ideas for some additional inspiration..
Well done again.
I suppose getting a calendar made up of your best years photos maybe?
I just trawl though all the pics I take and plop them on Flickr, I have collections of my best stuff for each show.
I also occasionally scan my prints from old shows and upload them, as I never used slide film. Looking back I wish I had, only I thought that would have been too expensive.
Cheers

Superb wasn’t it! Quite a fast aircraft for its size.
Greatpics, and to see the other perspective for a change, though the crowdrow viewpoint is always more scenic with the rolling fields and hills as backdrop, timeless, but for that lineup of plastic and aluminium private planes that spoils a lot of good pics, couldnt they park that away out of view for the weekend at least? There is so much authenticity at that place, add the reenactors and ground eqpt, and then to see a cessna172 in the backdrop kills it..
With the layout of the airfield the way it is, and the size. I can imagine it being quite difficult what with all those flying visitors aircraft. The only remedy to that I can think of is for flying visitors to arrive at Cambridge airport and be shuttled to Duxford. Being the first time for me to view from the south side, I was amazed at how much of the old airfield is now farm land. You don’t appreciate how much from the north perspective. Basically you can see that what is the current airfield and museum grounds, only covers half of what it used to be.
This is what really caught my eye on the participation list. Something I’ve never seen flying at Duxford as I’ve only been going since 2007.

Shame they only do this once a year, but it’s really impressive all the organisation that goes into this show.
Until next year!

Superb shots! Would love to go to this show one day. Love the squadron (balbo?) of helicopters, and the multiple flares from that Seaking. Lucky to see the Sea Vixen as well, only place to see her this year?
Martin
Those are all flippin awesome since you were only just getting used to the lens. Looks like it’s a superb lens then!
Love all of those! Well metered and exposed considering you have to fight the sun at Duxford.
