Hi all
My Wifes Grandad has told me that when an aircraft came down the first thing they went for was the 303 rounds then the Perspex.
He said they used to pull the bullet part off then chew the cordite (I dont know if he was pulling my leg but it would explain a lot if its true) and the perspex for rings and bracelets.Andy
Chewing cordite will make the skin appear jaundiced, handy for bunking off school. Ref Day of the Jackal.

In the Kallang pics there are Lincoln, Dak, Valletta,S.51s, Harvards, Mossie, Hornet, Brigand, (though the dark object might be a PR19. Vampire (or Venom), Connie, DC.4, Auster and Tigers and possibly a single Pin.

I seem to remember that my poor pic of the Brigand was taken at Tengah by a Flt Sgt Smith who gave me the pic when he was a Nav on Canberra’s c 1960. The occasion was of course the end of the road for the Far East Brigante.

Just going to bump this one to the fore again. The engines appear to be Salmsons. What nationallity. At first I thought French.
John
Yes, There was a dual control version.
John
It looks very Wibault.
John
I think that the cockpit shot is a Hendon. The last 38 Sqn Hendon went to the Radio School at Cranwell
John
The a/c behind the reclining “erk” is a Hawker Hind T. Yes “my mates “are standing in front of a Hendon

Die Bucker Flugzeuge. The complete history of all the little buckers 🙂
A very expensive book if I recall, which I got about 20 years ago.
John
I realise it’s not what you need, but these might be useful.

No19 is a Hawker Fury. The Audax looks to be used for solo flying as there is no gun ring fitted and it has the ballast weights fitted. It was with 7FTS. 7FTS at Peterborough also had some Furies.
John
Twin fins plus single leg u/c. Hudson.
John
There is a Tomahawk to the left. I have to blow up the pic a bit for the other. It’s a Hudson.
John
I would recommend the rudder pintles be checked on every afterflight. 🙂
(or tow from the front end)
