I think it’s a 127 or 129. but JP ought to have it as they (the Corsaires) all have slight differences. Is that a Mathies or a Salmson up front?

Well this is one that was in NZ 3 years ago. I believe it crashed retuning to base from Wanaka.

It is the Fairey Primer, one of the less common pictures. The ball is in your court again.

I think the legend is that it was a Viking freebooter who was caught trying to leg it back to Norway.

Seen at Spitalfields market today, a stall holder selling two four blader WW1 vintage airscrews and a Hartzell 2 blader. One of the 4-bladers was stamped” FE2B 160hp Beardmore”, couldn’t see the detail on the other. Both in pretty good condition, asking price £5.2K each for the 4 bladers. I’ve got the stallholders contact no if of use to anyone – not connected with me, I should point out.

What ridiculous prices. I can hear voices off stage saying “and where do you think that’s going” Lovely props but big.

One of my favourite little aeroplanes. There’s one of these hanging in a famous French town’s station concourse….. Anyone else want to take it?

The spoked wheels are probably “off the shelf” Rudge Whitworth wheels. Some had the natty little ‘knock off’ car type spinners and some used a domed nut. They have to be on a splined hub (otherwise they’ll come undone if the “vehicle” is reversed. I have seen this type of wheel on other types of early ground equipment. It probably means a troll (or trawl) through Flight at sometime.

At first look it looks like a DH.6 prop.(if a four blader or Farman Shorthorn if a two blader) The Dia is shown as 2618mm with a pitch of 2520mm. I’m sure someone will come up with chapter and verse soon.

I don’t think it’s the A/c serial as that number was allocated to a Henri Farman. If you know that the blades became table legs, do you have any other background info.

I think Dave J was actually refering to the style of the tanks, not the fact that the Venom did/could carry underwing tanks.
