It looks to have the glazing under the aft fuselage making it a Ventura.

I wonder how long this one will stick around?
John
Jeepman, that was my first suggestion 🙂
John
I have spoken with Ray and he had difficulty measuring the spinner as he had only a tape measure so 24″ is the nearest he could gauge.
John
He did the measure the Hendon machine. He gives other measurements as well in the article but I guess you can get them from him. (Max width of the engine nacelles 48 inches.)
Is it in fact a Bagimer? A french built Cub copy.
John
Thanks for this reply. No I haven’t seen Ray’s article as I don’t take SAMI these days but the information is interesting as 24″/25″ was my first rough calculation. I know Ray so he might have measured the Hendon machine.
The Freightdog set doesn’t actually address the real issues but is largely cosmetic IMO it still has over large spinners and intakes to suit the very innaccurate Revell nacelles
Thank you KET but it’s the absolute dia of the spinner I need preferably in it’s simplest form.

John
I suspose that you have already read Ray Ball’s article in the Feb edition of SAMI? He gives the spinner size as 24 inches.
I see Freightdog Models already have a correction set on sale.
If Avion could take it, I would appreciate it.
Cheers
John
Hi WP
It’s the pointy spinner found on most early Merlin Halifax’s like the one in the RAF Museum.
It also seems to be very similar to that used on the Wellington II. Any leads will be helpful as I’m trying to avoid a long trip down to Hendon. I am expecting to find a ballpark figure of about 25″.
If you can help that would be great.
John
Thanks for the heads up. I have a drawing which has no dimensions and if I get one I can sort out the rest. I’m trying to work out a correction for the disasterous new Revell kit spinners and nacelles and certain model drawings are at odds with one another.
John
Cigale? straight off the top of my head.
John
Well, fancy this thread turning up after all this time. It pretty well fills in the blanks except for it’s unltimate fate. Thank you gentlemen.
John
It is, taken at Goodwood.

Douglas A3B. The engine on the Pou looks like a Salmson.
John
It’s a Fouga CM 100.
