The Spanish also adapted one as a bomber with various guns sticking out of windows and the bombs being kicked down a ramp out of the open door with a walking stick jammed in the fins as a shackle. Illustration in The Miranda/ mercado book on the A/c of the Civil War.

Two derivatives of the Douglas concept for a bomber are the B23 Dragon and the B.18 Bolo….

I certainly wouldn’t have a problem with that.

What I do have a real problem with is that pile of expensive scrap iron ( I think it’s called the Memorial to the Irremovable Digit) in the heading. They can’t afford lighting or staff yet some clown commisioned that thing.

Sorry late reply John but what can you tell us about this little beauty 😀

My brother and I rebuilt it. It was basically an 1932 MG L.1 chassis with a Ford 1172 twin SU carb engine. The rad cowl came off a Bradford van and the body was aluminium and we finished it in Bugatti Blue . It went very well but used to fill up with water in thunderstorms. 🙂 I’ve always loved open cars and I still drive an MX.5 as well as my Volvo estates.

This is somewhat confusing as all english language sources refer to the type as SCAL FB 3? and occasionally as SCAL FB 30 Avion Bassou, and I eventually found it under Bassou Rubis as FB31. There was by the way a British owned SCAL FB 30.
    All the best

Examples of a pattern makers mis-interpretation are the Airfix Lysander (second issue) and the Henschel 123, both of which have their wing sections upside down. The Airfix Bulldog also has a pusher propeller section.

This is obviously not the Mengin engined version as it appears to have a Salmson but the type No escapes me. There was a 60Hp version. It’s also a post war picture as I think there is a Gemini poking out from behind the Stampe. Imediately behind I think is a Stark AS57/3.
