    Formations

I remember seeing three Hurricanes flying around quite leisurely at Duxford ten years ago. ‘Twas brilliant.

And, I think, TWENTY Spitfires?? 😮

What about the sound of Merlins and Griffons when Spitfires and Hornets would buzz Victoria Harbor on their way to and from Kai Tak during the mid-to-late-1950s?
    Exciting.
But it was more often than not only a two ship formation. Nothing more.

    Hurricanes & Spitfires

yes AVI it was special and almost like being present in a dog fight with all the excitement and feeling that it involves without coming to any harm.As the whole routine of the spitfires unfolded it was hard not to be drawn into there well rehearsed flying world and just watch like a thief of time had just taken 20 minutes away like a hypnotist.Merlin magic.:)

Very nice. I also like the Hurricane quartet shot.

    Wish I’d been there.
I’ve never seen a Hurricane in the air, and as for Spitfires, except for the 1950s,
I’ve only seen one in the air on two separate occasions. It must have been a sight!

The Hurricane 4 was a great shot. One of my favorites too.
How often do you see four in the air these days?

    Terrific photos. Thanks.

    Spitfires

Holy Smokes! How many trainer Spitfires are there??
The two-seat with the smaller Malcolm hood looks much smoother than that great big ol’ bubble in the back.

Fantastic shots, Anna. You’re a real pro!

    We’re happy he’s OK.
