According to a posting on Facebook (believe it as much us you will), Suddenly Seemore are doing the DVD and is intended for release next Spring/Summer.
This is the take off from Humberside. I recorded it for the sound as I’d been asked to take part in a local radio show here on the Costa Del Sol to talk about the flight when I got home. This was played as part of that show.
Keefy041, regarding hours on an operation on Lancs, I have a story from the day regarding this point which I’ll post at some point.
Take off…
Local Paper.
BBC have a picture of an F15, saying “Like this one”. Looks like it is that one.
Hang on, Gulf War II was in 2003. The anniversary today is Afganistan. I’m getting confused with all these wars in ME.
Today is the anniversary of Gulf War II in 2001. I think the article is wrong, this is the fourth time the RAF have been involved in Iraq since 1991. Now, Gulf War I, Gulf War II; but they are missing Operation Desert Fox in 1998.
And yes, the RAF has been Bombing Iraq on and off since 1920, and no, the politicians learn nothing.
Important having an understanding partner, believe it or not we were going to go to Canada this year, but went to UK instead from here in Spain for the Lancaster events.
Meddle why not take your complaint that CWHM only went to Scotland once, direct to them, rather than rant here. I’m sure they would be happy to give a full and frank answer.
Paul, CWHM website does have an appeal page for the engine overhaul.

I wish I could answer your question, Jay, seeing as I travelled from another European Country. As soon as the schedule was announced in March there was complaints of “not enough up north” and even today someone in Scotland has been complaining.
Comments here and elsewhere I have been ashamed to read to be honest.
Several times I expected the CWHM to say “well forget it then”.
The massive outpouring of support was the silent majority who clearly know how to work out how to travel around the UK.
Jay, you won’t believe the whinging of some people in UK who would have had to travel a couple of hundred miles to see the two Lancasters, after yours had flown over 3,500 miles, so they just didn’t bother. Their loss. I kept telling them to go look at a map of Canada…….
But for those who made the “effort” it was a wonderful once in a life time experience. thank you Canada!
“Whining” on this forum, “not making a difference” ??? Now you tell us!!!
Very interesting to hear a Canadian view, Jay, thanks.
……as I keep saying, I flew from Spain! – rather oddly, my early plans to UK included Preswick, but something came up.
