In the air now, flying to Reykjavik.
I was under the impression that routine maintenance was factored into the schedule. The first on arrival at Coningsby. Or rather, the schedule was factored around the maintenance. Not sure about re-arming!
The CWHM have said that the Lancaster will today be flying from Keflavik to Reykjavik (a very short hop) landing approx 10.30 am (local, GMT) and be on public display then back again later in the day.
Departure from Iceland on Friday is set for an arrival at Coningsby at 1.30pm (BST), 2.30pm for us Europeans. unfortunately, they don’t say when final departure from Iceland will be on Friday. Anyone care to try and work it out?
Report of the arrival in Keflavik and some photos from Matt Munson here.

Followed the flypast on 3D view, rather interesting! Flew low over the town of Keflavik. Bet that got people rushing outside!
Can see land on the 3D view!!!!
Sorry! brains gone!
Arrival time Keflavik 20.15 local time, 21.15 UK time (22.15 for us Europeans).
Amend ….20.15 local time, 21.15 GMT, 22.15 BST, (23.15 CET) – just realised CWHM are giving UK time as GMT.
You mean a Shorts Belfast. 1984, G-LANC/KB889
Arrival time Keflavik 08.15, local time, 09.15 UK time (10.15 for us Europeans).
Unless you mean KB976 going back across the Atlantic or IWMs coming the other way when Doug Arnold purchased it, but I think they were shipped, not flown ( as cargo)
1975 KB976.
What is the crack on Friday, Vera due in at Coningsby at 13.30hrs, solo, or with escort from BBMF/ Typhoon ? No news from the RAF yet or are they playing their cards close to the chest ? Rich
An interview on infamous CHCH channel with CWHM yesterday said that BBMF were flying out to meet up somewhere over UK on arrival in UK airspace. Red Arrows flypast with Red White and RED smoke (Canadian flag colours)
Flying time 7.5 hours.
CWHM I believe are aiming for take off at 10.00am local time (Atlantic Daylight Time) which is 14.00 (BST) or 15.00 (ECT) for us Europeans. (They have already crossed one time zone yesterday).
I believe they have only done the Canadian West Coast once, but the total distance covered was LONGER than Hamilton to Coningsby!
