Long hair cuts and even longer flares. Just found this on You Tube.
IWM Duxford Air Show 1975
Can’t be many left who can say they flew biplanes in combat.
What brought me up with a jolt was post #13 and the realisation that there were people posting here who had never seen Concorde fly because they are too young!!
Me too!
Here’s a thought. Next month it will be ten years since BA retired it’s Concorde fleet.
Can’t get any lower than this!!! CL 215 (apologies if posted before)
Daily Mail getting a bit carried away with an Argentine C130 low flypast.
Found on YouTube. Wish I could have been there. VC 10 arriving at Dunsfold yesterday.
This isn’t going to help you, sorry! But I remember watching this when first shown (and it being discussed on Capital Radio next day) Good luck getting hold of a copy.
Mothminor. Thanks for the info!
Can someone please say and describe what has been found. I’m outside UK, so iplayer is no good. Thanks all.
I hope this gets a bit of mainstream media coverage. LHR flypast would have been appropriate. A sad day……
Bit of trivia, both James Stewart and Walter Matthau were in the 453rd Bomb Group.
Oh yeah! So it is. Silly me! Thanks.
Unfortunately, only caught the end of this on R4. I recall W V-T talking about this on the BBC Parkinson talk show in the early 80s (with Clive James, if I recall correctly!) The show last night was more than just the W V-T recording which is available on CD (and to download). Just hope it’s on again at some point.
It looks good. Is there a write-up anywhere available explaining the make-up of the airframe, Eg. Hastings, original, new-build and how it all goes together?
yes, “Home is the Halifax” by the late Ian Robinson MBE, published by Grubb Street. A very good read.
