Latest from RAFM on YouTube. The lift from the seabed.
I thought the idea was that it had be kept wet to prevent corrosion, in these pics it looks rather dry.
I should have made clear that the FB post says, “Here is a photo of the Dornier inside the hydration tunnel”

That would be this then. For all Iron Maiden and Spitfire fans!
Second last paragraph is interesting!
I don’t recall previously seeing the last line about Wargaming’s involvement on the RAFM site until you pointed it out.
Me neither!
Latest from RAFM Facebook. ETA at 2.00 pm. Plus this
The Royal Air Force Museum, Cosford Visitors are welcome to come along and view its arrival as it drives onto the Museum grounds. The aircraft will then be out of public view whilst it is unloaded and placed in to the hydration tunnels where it will stay for the first stage of its conservation. Members of the public will be able to view the Dornier inside the tunnels from tomorrow morning at 10am when we open.
I’m all for Wargaming’s support for this, the conservation and exhibition etc. But still a bit surprised to have found details of their involvement so late in the day. Good for them, nonetheless !!!!! Knifeegeturn may well have a point.
Also, well done RAFM and all involved! We have a Do 17 preserved for future generations. And that is all that matters.
But the issue of the photos leaves a bitter taste somehow. Just what percentage of the population (of the world! I’m in Spain!) read this forum? Not that great I’d suggest. I am always worried about perceived censorship. But, Bruce, nevertheless I support what you did. It was a difficult call.
A quick Google and it seems that Wargaming.net are sponsoring the Dornier’s conservation and exhibition rather than the lift. Seems this was planed from the start. Press release from May here. So Good for them I guess.
And last line here

Can’t disagree with anything you say there, Mark. I just had a thought, and that was that Wargaming stepped in late in the day when the project needed more money and this explains why their involvement was not known about until now.
So what you’re saying is that a sponsor wanted to suppress photographs that didn’t have their corporate identity in the shot so that they’d get some return for their sponsorship…
…the evil *******s!!!
Damn! Did I say that! 🙂
Creaking Door, I have no problem who sponsors this. Happy that any organisation would. But this is the first time I have heard about Wargaming’s involvement (and good for them). Allied to this, RAFM asked that photos here be removed. God, do I have to spell it out!

From Facebook.
Those on Facebook will have noticed that there are now recently posted pictures of the fuselage on a flatbed lorry, which is covered in Wargaming.net banners. May suggest why RAFM doesn’t want other photos appearing. First I knew Wargaming.net had any involvement. Still if they are producing the money……..
