Credible Sport, may I use your first photo of the Manchester on a Manchester Facebook page, please?
The fact the Pope is an Argentine I’m sure is of no relevance.
From the local press. Unfortunately Stirling is spelt Sterling a couple of times.

Bomberboy, the CWH met all of their commitments for flights with passengers. In fact they ended up doing more than planned. The engine incident happened after the passenger flights from Humberside (one of which I was on board!) and then to raise more money after the engine incident, when more extra cash was needed, further passenger flights were flown from the South Coast, can’t remember where now, at short notice.
Regarding displaying independently from BBMF, they did so at Middleton St George. Apparently it was quite something. I missed it, unfortunately.
Being dismantled at Scampton.
I had the great privilege of being there yesterday.

Bit different to how Flypast covered the A26 crash at Biggin Hill way back in 1980, which included a picture of the fireball. I guess people are just super sensitive now and just complain about everything.
Not in that photo.
On the link here it refers to the name. And somewhere in USA another preserved B-17 also carried these markings, but with nose art. No idea if it was true to the original or not.
B-17 42-38133, which is now carried on the AAM’s aircraft, was known as “Reluctant Dragon”. Although I’ve been unable to find a picture of the nose art. The original aircraft from 96th BG carried the codes AW-O and was lost over Berlin on 30 Nov 1944 with 3 crew killed and 6 POWs.
I was at Duxford on Friday. It was brilliant to see the B-17 and B-24 outside together. Weather was ideal for photos.
Well done to IWM for organising it!
Unveiling of the Bomber Command Memorial Spire in Lincoln. Several hundred Bomber Command Veterans are expected.
There’s only one appointment for PA474 and one only that is of any importance and that is on 2nd October. The rest, party tricks with the Vulcan, are a complete irrelevance. I’m sure the BBMF are doing all they can to make that appointment……
Happy 100th Birthday Dick Cole!
There’s a Facebook Group called “Airshow Freeloaders” to put photos taken by non paying spectators, so the freeloaders themselves don’t seem to mine calling themselves “Freeloaders”. Although that’s only because they seem to have more front than Brighton. I guess they’d only get the message if a large number got wiped out one day, which would spell the end of Air Shows in UK.
