Didn’t. Never said anything about elevation.
Scorpion is really nice.
Initial statement :
Scorpion : +/60* in elevation.
Your reaction :
Lukos : FoV is more than that.
You disputed the Scorpion’s statement which was unequivocally about ELEVATION…
Scorpion (trying to refocus you) : not in elevation.
Lukos : In azimuth it is.
Why are you talking about azimuth ? off topic.
Scorpion : “EVELATION. don’t move goalposts“
And it ends when you answer him : “Didn’t.“
From the beginning, it was about ELEVATION.
Why arguing here ? It would be off topic.
I replied here :

Nope what, everything stated was factual.
Why arguing here ? It would be off topic.
A lesser RCS should be better, unless it prevent the aircraft from doing something particular.
It’s better because it delays detection and ease the job of ECM.
But up to now, Rafale manages to be light, very agile, versatile and on budget because it did not sacrifice too much to passive stealth.
I believe that had it been developed 20 years later, progress would have made Rafale stealthier. But still using TF so as to increase the chances further.
Being stealthier and using TF don’t exclude each other. They contribute to survivability among different things (mission planing, tactics, ECM, etc).
and seems to know better than some air force staff !
french air force intelligence officers are not specifically engineers..and a vast part of pilots are not either.
You’re making an “appeal to authority”, aren’t you ? :highly_amused:
It’s R-A-F-A-L-E, not Rafael.
The PESA just paved the way for the AESA. More than 20 years of development. Capabilities ? I (we) don’t know. Maybe. So, what have they been doing all this time ? We’re not in the right topic I’m afraid.
So, French Air Force and Marine Nationale are idiots. Is this what you imply ?
the rushed RBE2-AA.
:applause: Impressive.
Please, everybody, it’s a Rafale topic…
Given the discussions, I tend to believe we should avoid writing words like “Typhoon”, “F-35”, “Gripen”, or anything related (unless an article do it in our place).
A great Rafale news thread has disappeared on MP.net (and themess.net), if we can avoid flamebait, maybe this whole forum will improve a bit.
…IMHO. …
IMHO too.
Ok, thanks. :applause: Awesome.
Except the original post already linked where you directly argued with that point. You were wrong, deal with it.
Lukos, I took time to read the post you talk about, and I didn’t find a sentence supporting your accusation. Be more accurate, please.
Corrected. They are fused.
DDM(-ng), Mica IR and Damocles are fused. Are you sure for the FSO IR channel ?
AFAIK, in 2010, they decided not to fuse it, maybe my information was wrong.
M24 in 2012 – malfunction?
That is one crash attributed to the plane, not five.
As far as I remember, it was a simulated dogfight, the Rafale flew too close to the F/A-18 it was fighting against. It was nearly a collision, the engine exhaust of the F/A-18 would have disturbed the Rafale probes.
Nearly a collision… Is the aircraft faulty ?
