Looking at the BBMF Lanc sitting at Coventry im sure the Shackleton would not be too hard a task.
The price tag ive seen for the Lanc work was posted about at being £500.000.
So a full strip down as what we are seeing with the BBMF Lanc . would not be out of reach for the Shack. the respar work being undertaken at this stage of strip down.
im sure they are more Shack spars floating around . they must be other ways of makeing new spars with better propeties today than back 50 years ago.

    Hey everyone!

I got a new Canon EOS 350D for christmas, with two new lenses: (not including the one that comes with the camera) 28-80mm and 75-300mm.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips/advice that could help me with different settings I should use for different light/weather conditions?

Even any links to sites with this info would be helpful, I havn’t managed to find anything that states exactly what I want to find out yet.

    Thanks in advance!

Best and cheapest way of working the settings of your new camera will be looking and reading at that manuel that came with the camera.
inside this it will explain just about all you need to know regarding what settings do what . will also give you a better understanding of what the camera and settings all do.

Not too up on the Nikon’s ,
but are you in the automatic mode on the settings when trying to access
    this setting, ?
if like canon you can only access certain settings in the creative modes i;e
TV /AV Manuel modes etc. (not the auto point and shoot modes).

Would have to say go for the Canon 400D.
Memory cards as been said are very cheap today and falling in price all the time. 7Day shop seems a very good place to buy such things as cards and Batteries etc.
The 400D should give as much service as your trusty old 500E as done for many years. Even if 2 years down the line with 20million pixels on tap . a good 6mp camera will still be plenty good enough for most needs and prints up too A3 size.

You say some of the poppies landed on the memorial .
to me thats job done . do you know the glide path of a poppy from 1000ft . add in the wind speed air speed etc and i would say he did a grand job.

can think back many years ago in the late 70s of seeing 2 old engines semi buried in the sandunnes just left of mablethorpes. they had been thier for some time looking at them . i was just a kid at the time and used to play around them in the summer. im sure they was slowly swamped over time by sand and growth . Also many sories of airframe being in tombed under Bitterswell . thiers a old rail line that run’s underneath the airfield im told and the entrance was a tunnle from a farmers field just west of the base and airframe have been stored under there and it was blocked up many years ago. they may be some truth in the tails as ive often looked around the place now a massive industrial estate and they does seem to be a entrance of a train track tunnel a few miles down the rd in field that runs in the direction under Bitterswell . i was also intrigued of the 6inch fuel pipe that runs up to immingham Grimsby way . seems a long way to run fuel to the area. this line also ran for Bruntingthopres .

wonderful pics Tom – did you go flying in the dark? – wish I could have been there for a trip!

Yes I’m sure it was the Dak that came looking around the outskirts of Bulkington for some free fireworks, it must have been like heavy flak coming up in the Dakota. was up both saturday night and Sunday night. i had to halt the rockets we was sending up due to a very low 737 and then the Dak overflew us . 🙂
Any picture’s from the air to ground of Bulkington Would be nice to see.

Seem to be a bit late as you now have the new Kodak.
There seems a lot 300ds on the 2nd hand market and it will take the same pic as most of the more expensive models . so for around £200-250 they are a very good starter camera .i still use one 3 years old and 60,000+ shots later its still going fine .
