    Hi to all

As you will see from the website Vulcan to the Sky has again found itself up against the unforeseen and unavoidable! Engineering is going well and we are on target for ‘roll out’ in August.

Yes a lot of money has been spent but it is, and has always been a complex programme and time delays, and uplift mean that we still need £500,000 in the short term. Restoration then turns into flight and that becomes yet anothet budget which needs funding … and so it goes on.

We need all the help we can get if we are to achieve the ultimate goal. No one ever said it would be easy. In fact lots of people did not believe we would get this far!

    Let’s not give up now!

VTS is quite prepared to be open about the funding and understands that it does seem that funds needed have continued to rise. This is explained in outline in the press release and does not come from underestimation but from time delay between contract and commencement, uplift from contractors because of the time delay and the lack of a major sponsor.VTS has always been prepared to share all its problems but has endeavoured to keep a balance between the problematical and the progressive. I believe this has been achieved but may at times lead to misunderstanding.

VTS have tirelessly pursued corporate sponsorship and no stone is left unturned and if anyone can assist with contacts that would be a positive contribution.

The last thing we want to do is take your money if we cannot complete the project but it seems we cannot complete the project without your money. I believe the saying is ‘between a rock and a hard place’!

By all accounts there a very good system a not a bad price tag for the twin lens kits . around £600 is not bad . the 40-150 becomes a 300mmm top end due to the 2x crop of the sensor . not sure about any longer lens for this system ?

Ive not read most of the last posts.
but i can say that i feel the wasted money on such a silly building could have been better spent on a more simple hanger design and the money saved spent on the airframes out side. and useing the area for this new clap trap of a building i feel a better more simple and something that looked like a hanger could have been built . this being the case im sure it woud have room for most of the aircraft outside to be housed in it and room for futher airframes. what i see is a crap building that looks and makes you feel sick as been designed for a certain amount of airframe’ s nothing for future houseing of types etc so a total waste of space and money and **** poor planning.

Think you will find the D50 auto focus lets this camera down its very slow and hunts with most lens , it really does struggle with big zooms . and the d50 is not really aimed at the sports market it really does struggle with fast moveing objects .

Shame how things change . was a bit of a fan of some of is music in the early 80s. and then to find he was a aviation buff not long after was very fitting,
i met him last at swanton morley about 90-92 ish. at one of the last shows there , his havard was parked in front of us and my then girlfreind now wife got to speak and meet the chap . very nice and very polite to the crowds and was a good pilot being the baddy in the zero he flew, was a good show that year with mr blobby and noel edmonds and other celebs in on the show on the ground, anyone have any photos of that show . i took some but i cannot find any of them . i did suffer a house fire in 97 so may have lost out to that . nothing major just the back bedroom and a dodgey light fitting going up but smole damage was a issue and black dust and water got to a lot of boxes in the loft.
