The AAM was not designed around the B52 the fact it was based on a slice out of a dounut fact chris somebody was the guys name that did the design for it, He also designed the millinium bridge in london the one that swings all over the place , guess where he got that design from . is guitar he plays looking at the neck and strings on it. not sure if he as anything too do with the cosford building but i bet there is something of his in it. what a eyesore looks like its falling over . when you see 100.000 sqft warehouses going up in a few months for a few million that would house lots more . its madness to see these so called design people walking away with millions for something they drew up on a fag packet from sitting down playing is guitar eating a dounut.

Air_Britain’s ‘Fleet Air Arm Fixed-Wing Aircraft Since 1946’ shows the following service history for SX336:

“Ready for collection, 30 April 1946; delivered RDU Culham, May 46; AHU Abbotsinch, 21 August 46; tested 22 November 46 – 3 December 46; to GI Class II as A571; At Bramcote as A2055, June 53; AHU Stretton, 27 July 55 (fire fighting practice); sold for scrap to British Aluminium, Latchford Lock, Warrington?; Joseph Brierley & Son scrapyard, Warrington.”

It was at the latter location that Mark 12 came to the rescue.

The aircraft appears to have never been issued to a front-line or reserve squadron.

    Laurie.

Thanks for that info . Would be nice for a flypast over its old base at Bramcote some time all the old hangers still exsist and they have a open day in the summer so a flypast would go down very well indeed .

Not sure where the bad press comes from for the 18-55 kit lens
ok for indoor use its poor and you will need the flash . but for out door and statics i find it very good . ok its not £100s of L Glass its about £50s worth and will take very good shots of statics etc plenty wide for getting up close .if your after a picture it will do the job.a few below with the 18-55
not my best with the lens but all i have on the drive at present. if you want to see anymore i will dig some out.hanger shot to show its indoor use notice no lights on in the hanger slow shutter and a very steady hand . vodka pod . 🙂
